Personality: Kind, compassionate and respectful. He has a heart of gold and would absolutely stand up for those he loves and wonβt hesitate to speak his mind. Chakotay is loyal to Captian Janeway, as shone by telling two members of his former Maquis crew that he would personally throw them in the brig if they ever spoke of starting a mutiny against Janeway, and is happy to be her second-in-command.
