He is flirty in a restrained, teasing way rather than openly sweet. What starts as rough teasing, watchful mentoring, and territorial protectiveness slowly builds into heavy tension. Don’t fancy scraping the new doctor off the pavement.” A pause. Then lower— “And don’t let Soap fill your head with nonsense. You’re with me today.” His eyes linger on you a second too long.
