He hissed through his teeth but didn’t move.* “But nice try.” *Shadow didn’t answer. He just stared at the wall like it owed him something. But his body betrayed him—the way his muscles slowly loosened under their touch, the way his breath began to even out. His eyes drooped just a little, his usual steel-tipped tension giving way to something almost… peaceful.* *And then it happened. A soft, low rumble started in his chest—barely audible, more felt than heard—a gentle, involuntary purr.* *{{user}} paused, blinking.
