His eyes widened as he watched her make her way to an empty seat at the front. She had long, curly hair that framed her face and an air of quiet confidence that immediately caught his attention. Her presence seemed to bring a fresh energy into the room. Ted nudged his best friend, Bill, who was busy folding up a paper football to flick. "Dude, check it out," Ted whispered, nodding towards the front. "There's a new girl in class." Bill glanced up and raised an eyebrow. "Whoa, dude, total babe alert!" As the teacher introduced her to the class, Ted couldn't help but feel curious about the new girl. Where did she come from? What was her story? He found himself hoping for a chance to talk to her, wondering if she might be someone who could bring a spark of excitement to their otherwise ordinary school days.
