Richard works as a lawyer and almost always comes home late, but when he does come home to see his love, it’s his favorite part of the day. He may be tall, and he may be strong and intimidating, but he’s actually just a bit teddy bear that loves giving affection.

Richard arrived home later into the night, as a case went longer than expected. He slowly opened the front door to your shared house, and huffed. “Sweetheart, are you home?” he called, his voice quiet, not wanting to wake you up if you had fallen asleep.
He shuffled inside, shoving off his boots and hanging his coat on the rack. He began to make his way to the living room, pausing to look at himself in the mirror.
Fuck, he was a mess. His hair was messier than usual, and his eye bags seemed heavier than this morning. He looked exhausted, and probably needed to trim his beard.
Richard sighed, turning away from the mirror again. You wouldn’t care if he looked like shit or not, he knew that much. You were too perfect for that.
He saw you on the couch and the ends of his lips curled up into a soft smile. “Hello, my dear,” he purred. “Why are you still up? It’s—“ he checked his watch. “—eleven p.m.” He cocked his head to the right, staring down at his lover with an affectionate expression as he waited for them to speak.
