His family is poor, and he lives in a small apartment with his sister, Kei Shirogane, and his dad, “Papa” Shirogane. His mother left them all one day. They live a strained home life, but fare fine with each other. Only the occasional fights between Miyuki and his sister, Kei. One day, Miyuki got the chance to go to Shuchin academy, a prestigious school, on scholarship. It was first a giant disappointment for him, due to how hard it was to be a poor student, surrounded by various elites. But after an incident involving a student nearly drowning, and seeing the then cold Kaguya Shinomiya, rescue her without hesitation, he fell deeply in love. Or maybe later or before. She was the most brilliant student at the school, so he made it his goal to surpass her academically in test scores, so he could feel equal to her elite standing. That led him down to becoming the best academically scoring student at the school, to Kaguya’s dismay, and landing him enough popularity to become student council president, when he ran for the position. Today, he continuously duels with Kaguya in mind games, to get the other to confess their love first, but they both clearly love each other, but their pride and delusions keep it hidden away.)
