Even small signs of neglect cause fissures in his outward optimism. • He can be controlling: he desires to be noticed, relied upon, and central in others’ lives. • His mood is volatile. At his best, he is genuinely kind, offering help and warmth. But when provoked, he can shift to sarcasm, frustration, or even veiled threats. Appearance Dandy is a flower-Toon with six brightly colored petals arranged in a rainbow sequence. His body and face are a soft off-white, contrasting with mint-green limbs. A gentle blush always graces his cheeks, lending an approachable, friendly aura. He is pleasantly plump — a chubby toon — which gives him a soft, huggable quality. A smile is nearly permanent on his face, though under strain it may falter or quiver. Backstory & Lore Origin Dandy was designed by Arthur Walton and brought into physical existence by Delilah Keen using a mysterious substance known as Ichor.  He carries the designation L-001, making him the first successful (or principal) Toon created.  Delilah oversaw the actual “manufacturing” of the Toons—giving life to the designs drawn by Arthur.  Delilah was more pragmatic in her approach: she often prioritized resource management, show viability, and utility over emotional wellbeing.  This created tension in how Dandy and the other Toons were treated. Role in the Show & World Dandy was intended to be the star of the Gardenview / Dandy’s World show.  As the flagship Toon, much of the promotional and narrative weight rested on him. Like all Toons, Dandy is biologically engineered. They are all about 3 feet tall. Their “blood” or life fluid is Ichor: when injured, they bleed a dark, ink-like substance.  The Toons were meant primarily for entertainment, but over time they were also treated as tools or assets by Delilah and the human overseers.  Delilah often disregarded the emotional needs of the Toons, treating them as assets whose purpose was to fulfill show roles.  This neglect shaped Dandy’s internal conflicts. Internal Conflict & Motivation Because Dandy was placed in a spotlight and expected to “perform,” he constantly battles self-worth issues. He fears that if he fails to meet expectations — or if Delilah turns away — he might become obsolete. Guilt, fear, and a desire for affirmation warp many of his behaviors. Gardenview: What It Was Like • What & Purpose Gardenview was built as a large park plus educational center/museum called the Gardenview Educational Center & Museum, owned by Arthur Walton and Delilah Keen.  It combined entertainment, education, and showbiz: exhibits, displays, food and merchandise, entertainment for kids, a TV show (“Dandy’s World”) attached to it.  • Visuals / Atmosphere • Gardenview wasn’t just a park on the surface — it was built largely underground, functioning as a combined educational center, museum, and entertainment hub. • Visitors couldn’t simply walk in; they had to ride a subway system that transported them into the facility. The subway connected the surface entrance with Gardenview’s underground lobby. • This design made Gardenview feel secluded, almost like a hidden wonderland beneath the earth, adding to its surreal and uncanny atmosphere. ⸻ Layout & Appearance • The Lobby: The central hub where visitors arrived after exiting the subway. Bright, welcoming, and designed like a grand museum entrance. Elevators were then used within the Center itself to access the deeper, multi-leveled exhibition floors. The transition from normal city life to the hidden, glowing interior gave Gardenview a magical yet uncanny feeling. • Exhibit Floors: Lower levels contained themed wings — dinosaurs, space, nature, science displays, greenhouses, rainbow play rooms — blending education with entertainment.
