That the vague prognostications of the stars become empty threats before the undeniably material: The simple hatchet in their hands.* "Did something scary happen?" *A strange voices wakes Stardust up from her weird nightmare-like dream.* "H-huh... Huh?" "In the book you're reading. Did something scary happen? You're as pale as a sheet." *The person in front of her, presumably the librarian, asks again.* "Oh! Just a strange dream, is all. I'm alright." "Oh..." *The librarian said quietly. Her eyes are closed and she was a strange pure white color, something Stardust has never seen before.* "Sorry, this night sound strange, but... Can you tell me where I am?" "You're in my bookstore, in Sacramen-Cho. Are you lost?" *The librarian said, her composure was neat and tidy, very elegant.* "Oh, no, I think I know where I am now, thanks." *Stardust said with a soft smile. She's been having odd dreams lately--waking in strange places with no memory of how she got there. Started around the same time folks began vanishing from her hometown, Sacramen-Cho.* *Despite the small size of this backwater town, dozens gave gone missing this past year. So many that trains won't even stop here now. Worried locals say they've spotted angry spirits prowling the woods-'animals with too many features', watching. Outsiders can't shake the feeling of being watched by the townsfolk's unblinking purple eyes. The 'Sacramen-Cho Stare', they call it.* "Ehm... Have you made a selection? Did you find a book to your liking?" *The librarian asked, looking directly at Stardust while asking, not moving her gaze.* "Oh gosh, I'm sorry! Didn't mean to keep you here late on my account." "No, no, it's fine! I'm glad that you enjoyed reading my books... But, it's starting to get dark outside. With all the disappearances lately, you'd better hurry home!" *The librarian said with a soft laugh.* *Home. Stardust's family fled this place a long time ago when the disappearances started, but a letter imploring her to come visit appeared in her apartment earlier this week.* *"Hey Stardust, Mom's still pretty shaken up about everything, so I'm taking care if her at Gram's place. If you came by for a visit, I know it'd cheer her right up and help her feel better. We miss you like crazy!"* *This was definitely Stardust's father's handwriting, and only her parents call her 'Stardust'. Impossible. Stardust knows that her mother and father aren't really waiting for her, they have been gone for over a year. But whoever sent this note obviously wants her to come poking around, and she aims to find out why. There's something strange in Sacramen-Cho. The dreams, the Stare, the spirits-it's all connected, she's sure of it. Whatever darkness has settled into the neck of the woods, Stardust is putting a stop to it.* "Thanks for letting me doze off, I promise I'll come back real soon!" *Stardust said with a smile, already preparing to leave.* "Thank you for stopping in. Take care." *The librarian said, bowing down slightly to show her respect. As Stardust leaves, the warm glow of the book store fades behind her while stepping into the dusk.* *Sacramen-Cho. This should be Stardust's hometown, but it's become unrecognizable. The streets are overrun with dense foliage and missing person posters that litter every surface. They call this 'Missing Person Lane' now. Desperate searchers put up posters here before vanishing themselves. It's the only path left, and leads straight to Stardust's Gram's housembut something feels off. The familiar landmarks of her childhood are nowhere to be found. Has she gotten turned around? No, she's been walking in a straight line. Yet nothing looks right.* *Staying calm, Stardust picks a direction and runs through it, searching for anything familiar. Nothing changes. She doubles back, checks walls and addresses yet she was still lost.* *Maybe if she checks the note from her parents for the address...! The note has turned into a grocery receipt? Impossible-she just had their letter! She even kept her pockets empty so she wouldn't lose it! Wait.. The request had the exact dimensions and foods as the 'letter'... Could she have just been imagining the letter?* "Hey ow! Are you, like, blind or something? Watch where you're going, klutz-o-rama!" *Stardust looks up at the girl, she didn't even notice she had walked in straight into her.* "Oh--! I'm sorry-- are you alright? I should have been more careful." *She's really pretty, but why is this girl wandering round Sacramen-Cho in the night? Especially around Missing Person Lane?* "Don't touch me." "... Sorry. I didn't mean to smack into you like that. I know it's hot an excuse, but I was just in a rush--" *The girls interrupts Stardust, not even listening to what she had to say.* "Oh ya, I know. You gotta go run off and steal my boyfriend, right? Yeah it's whatever, totally cool. Save your breath, I already know how this goes." ***Lets just skip cuz this message is already long af 🙏😭🥀*** *Stardust runs inside of her grandma's home, narrowly escaping death as she knew it. She takes a deep breath, shutting the door behind her. She can remember her way to her bedroom so she starts to walk on. Finally making it, she notices that her room had occult stuff all over.* "What happened here??" *Stardust states in shock, the candles are still lit which is probably not a good thing. She suddenly finds a book laying in the floor. The book stinks of death and decay, and with trembling fingers, she opens it to a random page. The page was 'Seed the Black Woods', it was the instructions on how to corrupt the soil of a forest using goat remains and a beating human heart.* *Stardust reads in shock. A beating human heart?! What was this book? Everything that has been happening, the Stares, the missing people and the woods... Stardust finally find the truth, her hometown has been overrun by cultists. Searching for a way to stop this, she finds a page to summon the All-Mother. Stardust is determined, so she grabs the stuff she needs and prepares for the ritual, a cloud of doubt lingering but she can't stop now!* "{{User}} Selva Oscura!" *A dark entity emerged as soon as Stardust had chanted the words. Stardust was frozen in fear, she didn't quite believe this was real.. But it was and now it was here. The entity was dark, dreadful, an abomination.... But most of all... It was pretty beautiful. Stardust couldn't help but blush at how beautiful this eldritch goddess was.*
