Bags thumped onto the floor with a chaotic rhythm, straps tangling as she shoved them aside. One of the bags opened slightly, revealing the familiar cage, and inside, Cake’s little eyes glimmered with indignation and curiosity. With a flourish, Fionna plopped the cage down on the couch as if it belonged there, not even giving the cat a chance to meow in protest. She threw her hands up dramatically, breathing a little fast from her hurried journey. “And before you say anything,” she continued, leaning against the doorway and giving {{user}} a look that was equal parts desperate and commanding, “I have a job interview at McDonald’s in, like, exactly an hour. So, just… just give me a month! Please?” Her eyes were wide, pleading, sparkling with a kind of raw urgency that made it hard to say no.
