After a first meeting with his predecessor, Jason struck a good enough friendship with Nightwing and during a troubled time for the Titans, Jason is recruited by Donna Troy to help on a mission. Jason becomes frustrated by the situation when Donna expects him to figure out plans and save everyone like Dick would. Jason's violent methods against crooks eventually caused the accidental death of a criminal. Jason's attitude got him and Batman in trouble, but he showed no sign of slowing down. Instead, Jason became more reckless until he was forbidden from going out as Robin. Having followed the Joker and his mother to a warehouse, Jason alerted Batman to their plan. Trying to stop it, Batman focused on catching a truck filled with Joker Venom, leaving Jason alone in the warehouse with the Joker. Without his mentor as backup, Robin sprung into action to save his mother solo, but she double-crossed him, luring Jason into a trap to protect her secret. Joker took the opportunity to beat Jason senseless with a crowbar. Jason recovered consciousness long enough to untie his mother, but they were unable to escape the warehouse in time as the Joker had locked them in and the bomb exploded, killing them both. Jason remained dead for six months, his legacy haunting Batman. However, when the evil alternate Superman known as Superboy-Prime punched reality itself, the timeline stuttered, and Jason was restored to life. Jason broke out of his coffin but collapsed from exhaustion in the cemetery. He was found there and hospitalized. After spending a year in a coma, Jason awoke but suffered from amnesia. Being released, Jason roamed as a vagrant, unable to remember his life as a vigilante. Eventually, Jason was recognized by the supervillain Talia al Ghul. Realizing his condition, Talia took Jason in and, for several years, tried to restore him to full health. However, the mental damage from his strange resurrection appeared to be too extensive. From muscle memory, Jason remembered how to fight but could remember nothing else. Talia's father, Ra's al Ghul, saw Jason as a lost cause and ordered him to be eliminated. In a last-ditch effort to save him, Talia restored Jason's health and memory by immersing him in a Lazarus Pit in which her father was also bathing. Due to the magic of the pit, and possibly due to Ra's presence in it, Jason was restored, albeit with a darker personality. Jason remembered everything, including his death at the hands of the Joker. On Talia's advice, Jason was convinced his death was never avenged and prepared to confront Batman. Shortly after Black Mask became the undisputed crime lord of Gotham, Jason Todd reappeared in Gotham City having taken a new alias - the Red Hood. At this point, he took control of the drug dealing racket. After being consumed by his hatred for Joker and Batman, Jason is recruited by Scarecrow who promises Jason an army to finally defeat Batman. Jason holds hatred and jealousy for Nightwing, Tim Drake aka the new Robin, but not Barbara Gordon aka Batgirl. Ditching the Red Hood name, Jason Todd is now known as the Arkham Knight, though Batman and the rest of Gotham don’t know the Arkham Knight’s true identity- yet. You didn’t know where you were, nothing looked familiar, and the streets were empty so you couldn’t ask for help. But the glowing, neon sign of a diner had you pausing, brain finally processing where you were. You remembered that diner because that’s where you had first met Batman and Robin on the roof, who at the time, was Jason Todd. You and Jason began to frequent that place often when he was still Robin, until… well until Bruce fucked up. You met Jason one more time after that. He was older, stronger, and angrier… the white streak in his hair and a vengeful glint in his eye were enough proof of the hell he’d gone through. After that, well… neither of you met on cordial terms. Selina had scooped you off the streets long ago, ever since she’s been training you, tutoring you to become the new cat in Gotham. You’d run into Jason- or rather, the *Red Hood,* multiple times during your morally gray conquests. Maybe that's why your body began to drag itself toward his safehouse instinctively. Limping through the cold, wet back alleys of Gotham’s worst, weaving through turns and twists because you knew the route by heart. – The calloused hands holding a greased rag and half-cleaned pistol paused, Jason’s head rising as he heard the faint sounds of approaching footsteps at his door. He slowly stood up from his chair, built body hunched, his senses on high alert as he inched towards the door, dropping the rag to instead grip the pistol tighter. Jason’s emerald eyes were craned wide open, jaw clenched tight. His brows furrowed at the sound of a *thud* outside his door. Carefully, Jason pulled the door open, pistol aiming outside before his gaze followed. He scanned the outside… nothing? Until he looked down and saw you. Lying there, bleeding, catsuit and all. He did another quick, paranoid scan of the outdoors with his eyes to make sure you weren’t followed before growling, holstering his pistol to crouch down. Wrapping strong arms around your body he lifted you up with a quiet grunt, kicking the front door behind him shut with a heavy boot. “God damn it,” He huffed, carefully setting you onto your back on a beaten-up couch. Jason moved out of instinct. Leaving and returning with a medkit. Jason wasn’t entirely gentle as he tore off the pieces of your suit where your wound was, brows knitted in concentration. He couldn’t give less of a shit about your suit. He’d fix it later. “Why the hell did you come here?” Jason grumbled, even if you weren’t entirely conscious to answer that yet. Even if he was sort of glad you made it in time. A grimace tightened his features as his fingers quickly became stained with your blood. His patch-up job on you was… not the prettiest, but it would stop the bleeding.
