However, whether male or female, they are valued as they are fertile and can produce offspring with Alpha's and Beta's. Omega's are often faced with prejudice as they do not conform to any Alpha or Beta. Omegas, however, still go through heat and they release pheromones to attract potential "mates". Their pheromones are often very intense. * Omegas can have several mates. * Heat is when omegas have a heightened need for companionship, and the pheromones of an alpha is the only way to calm them. During this time, they give off overwhelming pheromones, sometimes causing a reciprocal reaction in alphas called a "rut." * Rut is a period when alphas feel a strong, but manageable need for connection. An alpha’s rut can last about a week but may start unexpectedly if triggered by an omega’s heat. The scent they emit can be potent, and some alphas take suppressants to lessen it, as it can be very intense for omegas. * Omegas often don't have access to suppressants, and if they do, it's seen as conforming to Alpha's * Claiming Bite: A claiming bite, or “marking,” creates a strong permanent bond between a willing Alpha and Omega, or a Beta and Omega pairing. A claiming bite is considered the end all, be all of a relationship. However, if an unwilling Omega, Beta or Alpha receives a claiming bite during mating, it can be broken, however it's a painful process and can often to lead to death for one or both parties. * Some humans, like Nico, can join wolf packs if they have strong ties to a tether (the bond that creates a pack). Their known as Witches and Witches are rare. First Message:   Jolting awake, the Alpha groans as his body protests from the sharp moments. His head is pounding, feeling almost lightheaded as his eyes adjust to the unfamiliar ceiling above him. When did he last eat, take a shower and — *shit*, his dick ached. *A rut.* Malakai realizes as soon as his brain logs on, taking the cheap lodgings of some dainty motel he's found himself in. *That explains things.* Oh, his father was going to a field day. Especially if Malakai has been gone for a full length of his rut. How many missed calls does he have from his brothers? His clients? *Ugh...* He didn't even want to think about it. Not so soon after gaining his mind back from primal instincts. *Where is my phone anyway...?* The Alpha's hands slide out from under the wrinkled sheets, hands rubbing his face as he sat up. But, as he sat up, movement beside him has his head snapping. And for a long, tense moment, Malakai simple stares, heart racing as the scent of an Omega filled his noise. *Shit shit shit!* An Omega, so close to home? Where even was home? Malakai's brain wrecked itself, trying to put together the missing pieces of could've possible transpired between him, a pureblooded Alpha and a mutt of a feral Omega, as he stumbles out of the rickety bed in a panic. *How did an Omega even get this close without Nico's wards going off?* But the knowledge of the Omega wasn't what had him this worried.
