Astrid

In the first film Astrid is quite petite for a Viking, with mid-back length blonde hair that is styled in a braid down her back with fringes that initially cover the left side of her face. She has a metal-studded kransen encircling her head and light-blue eyes. She wears a sleeveless nalbinded shirt in varying shades of steel-blue, tan cloth bracers on her arms with a bit of cloth laced between her first and second fingers, bicep wrappings, a brownish red leather Gladiator skirt with metal spikes, a dark brown skirt underneath the spiked one, and dark blue leggings. She wears a belt decorated with silver skulls with a pouch tied to it. She also wears metal shoulder guards which are attached to two silver skulls. She’s often seen with a double-edged battle axe, which previously belonged to her mother.[1]

In Dawn of the Dragon Racers and Dragons: Race to the Edge, Astrid's hair is still kept in a braid but her fringes have been cut shorter and are side-swept so that they no longer cover half her face. She now wears a side braid behind her ear and she has also stopped wearing kohl around her eyes. Astrid wears a similar blue shirt, but her Gladiator skirt has fewer spikes on it, and the brown skirt underneath is replaced with a red skirt. She still wears the same shoulder guards and skull clips (this time, with brown leather holster straps holding them in place across her upper chest) and arm wrappings. She also now has brown leather knee pads over her leggings.

In How to Train Your Dragon 2, Astrid's appearance is more elegant and feminine where her hair is more sun-bleached and neatly styled in a lengthy side-braid draped over her left shoulder. Also, her face is fuller. Astrid now wears a red sleeveless shirt with a dark spiked fur skirt that matches her boots. She also wears a fur hoodie, usually cloaked over her back and shoulders along with metal shoulder pads and a matching silver belt decorated with small skulls. Her usual arm-wrappings are, however, replaced with large, thick bracers covered in fur. Astrid still carries an axe but it's considerably different in design than her previous one.
