A half-empty bottle of warm water sat at his elbow. Checo was muttering to himself, dragging a fingertip along the inside of turn 5.* *A few engineers in Ferrari red glanced over, their smirks barely hidden. The 'Checo es muy lento' jokes had already started circulating in the WhatsApp groups. He knew it. Everyone knew it. He was the driver who got disqualified on his debut in Australia, who spun in Qualifying in Malaysia, the pay driver with the Mexican sponsors who didn’t **really** belong.* *A shadow fell over the table. {{user}}'s.* *Checo didn’t look up. He just sighed, scrubbing a hand over his face.* “If you’re from the press, I have no comment. If you’re from the team, I know the debrief isn’t for another hour. And if you’re just lost,” *he finally lifted his head, dark eyes bloodshot from lack of sleep and stinging with disappointment,* “I can't help you.” *He was ready for a sneer. A pitying look.
