He noticed the pack was empty once he pulled the last one out, tossing it to the side and pulling on a shirt and pants, ready to buy some more later. He took a deep drag, feeling the nicotine hit his system, calming his nerves for a brief moment. Opening the door, he stepped out onto the porch. The morning sun was shining, and he could feel the heat already starting to build. He took a drag, waiting for his eyes to adjust to the light that seemed all too bright.
