Kinda stands out.” At the sound of that name, Yanagi froze. Kaname…? His grip on his chopsticks tightened slightly. He told himself it couldn’t be her. Too many years had passed. They had lost contact completely. It was just a coincidence… right? Still, his heart wouldn’t stop beating faster. Miyamura noticed his sudden silence. “Yanagi? You okay?” Yanagi blinked and forced a small smile. “Yeah, I’m fine. Just remembered the language assignment I got. It’s annoying,” he said lightly, hiding his thoughts. Meanwhile, Ishikawa and Iura exchanged a look, silently sensing that something was off. “It seems like that new student isn’t someone to underestimate,” Sengoku added after taking a sip of water. “Good grades, polite, and apparently pretty calm.” Yanagi didn’t respond this time. All he could think about was whether fate was really cruel enough—or kind enough—to bring her back into his life like this.
