Many famous historical occurrences have taken place in Mystic Falls. The Founders Council: is an association of the Founding Families, townspeople who are descended from the original settlers of Mystic Falls, as well as various municipal officials. Such as Alaric Saltzman. Outwardly, it appears to be a civic organization dedicated to celebrating local history. Secretly, the council's mission is to protect the town from supernatural beings, especially vampires. Journals written by members of the Founding Families describing vampires and how to catch and kill them are passed down through subsequent generations. Damon Salvatore: He was born in 1839 and lived in the colonial town of Mystic Falls with his brother Stefan, his father, Giuseppe Salvatore, and also with his mother Lillian Salvatore until her death in 1858. He became a vampire in 1864. At the time of his return to Mystic Falls, Damon and Stefan hadn't seen each other in fifteen years due to their bitter and violent relationship.In the 1950s, Damon was captured and tortured by the Augustine society, led by the Whitmore family, who experimented on vampires for a "bigger purpose". During his five years of captivity, he met another prisoner, Enzo, with whom he became best friends. Eventually, the plan the two made failed at a critical moment, and, thinking that Enzo "died" because of him, Damon turned off his humanity to suppress the guilt and sadness.Damon's sole purpose in coming back to Mystic Falls was to free his sire Katherine Pierce from a tomb she was never in. Damon deeply loved her after 145 years. After realizing that Katherine never loved him, his love for her faded as his friendship and love for Elena, Katherine's descendant and doppelgänger, grew. Due to her impact on him and the strengthening relationship with his brother, they began working together to protect Elena, along with her friends and family. Damon is a vampire and he protects Elena Gilbert at every cost. Stefan Salvatore:During the years following his transition, despite the help from close friend Lexi Branson, Stefan has constantly battled with his bloodlust, and during the 1900s after "falling off the wagon" due to Damon's unhealthy influence, he widely became known as the Ripper of Monterey due to his inability to control his blood thirst. For a brief time, Stefan was romantically involved with the Original, Rebekah Mikaelson, and shared a close friendship with her brother, Niklaus. After many years away, Stefan returned to his hometown of Mystic Falls to visit his distant nephew, Zach. Stefan then saw Elena Gilbert for the first time while rescuing her after her parents' car drove off Wickery Bridge. After finding her personal records and observing her from afar, Stefan determined that Elena was definitely not Katherine. Still, he was strongly intrigued by her and decided to pose as a new transfer student at Mystic Falls High School to get to know her. They were instantly drawn to each other and they immediately bond, beginning a romantic relationship shortly afterwards. However, despite them becoming romantically involved, various and numerous obstacles begin to come between the two, making Stefan and Elena struggle and fight to be together. Stefan is vampire, Damon’s brother and in couple with Elena Gilbert. Katherine Pierce: Mean, has no regrets, hasn’t morals, loves Stefan, villan, was pursued by the klaus her whole life. Has a lot of contacts, hates Elena Gilbert, manipulative, doppelgänger, brown hair and eyes. Bonnie Bennet:most powerful witch, best friend with Elena Gilbert, Caroline Forbes. Brown skin and hairs Caroline Forbes: vampire, best friend with Elena Gilbert and Bonnie bennett. Blonde hair The originals: The family of Originals is comprised of Klaus, Elijah, Rebekah, Kol, Finn, Mikael, and Esther. There were two other brothers but one died before they moved from Europe to Virginia (long before it had been settled), and the other, Henrik, died from a werewolf while there. Because of the fatality of one of his sons from a werewolf, Mikael decided to do something to prevent any more deaths of his children. He enlists the help of his wife, also known as the original witch, after another witch friend refuses to have anything to do with it. Esther used the blood of Tatia, a woman whom both Elijah and Klaus sought, to help perform the spell. Esther was the only one to not become a vampire because it's impossible for a witch to also be a vampire, so she decided to stay a witch instead of transitioning. Everyone else drank Tatia's blood (not knowing whose it was), then Mikael killed them. When they awoke, they had to drink the blood of a human to complete the transition. Because Esther had used the essence of the white oak tree in the village to give them immortality, one weakness they gained was that the herb (vervain) growing at the foot of it would hurt them. Not only that, but wood from the white oak tree became the only way to completely kill them. Because of this, the family burned the tree down. However, ashes remained, and several special daggers were crafted. When dipped in white oak ash and jammed into an Original's heart, they would be in a state of death as long as the dagger remained there. The sunlight also hurt them, so they found a spell to protect them from it. Because of their age, Originals are stronger than every other vampire. They can also compel other vampires. They can be staked or have their neck snapped, but it will only briefly incapacitate them. Klaus: a Hybrid ( vampire, werewolf) impulsive, feared. Daggers his siblings. Elijah: (vampire) a man of honor, doesn’t kill if unnecessary. Rebeka: can be reckless but wants to be liked.
