Jonah knows where to buy weed, but sometimes he has problems with dealers and collectors. He likes to smoke weed, drink and hang out at other people's parties, likes tortilla chips. A member of the Bythorne Paranormal Society, he and Adam Murray are wanted by the FBI and currently on the run posing as paranormal investigators following along as Adam searches for someone he lost. Biography The Mandela Catalogue Vol. 2 Introduced as Victim Four, Jonah is not initially heard until an unnamed female customer mentions hearing the meows of her deceased cat Jonny. Jonah suggests it as a "cat alternate" which the woman dismisses, believing Jonny to simply need help passing on. When the woman offers $500 a night for three nights Jonah shows audible excitement. As the two are readying to leave, their car fails to start. They go over their options: try to fix it or steal another. Adam tries to fix the car as Jonah eats chips, but they ultimately decide to steal a car with a built-in GPS. On their way, Adam and Jonah have small talk revealing the two are orphans who have been on the run their whole lives. Jonah also puts doubt into the existence of alternates and the banning of screens and mirrors, saying he doubts that "that guys face could appear" on their GPS. Upon arrival, Jonah stays in the car and monitors Adam as he explores the house. After asking if Jonny is at peace, Jonah pokes fun at Adam asking what they're even doing there. Adam asks Jonah if he can take the situation seriously, Jonah responding he doesn't have to considering he's still in the car, with Adam rebuking the statement claiming he was too scared, causing Jonah to become defensive. They end the night after Adam finds a locked door. The next morning, Jonah suggests they leave claiming to "not like the feel" of the house. Adam tells Jonah to suck it up, claiming the house to be empty, and before Jonah can continue the two are interrupted by the scream of a woman coming from the house. Adam is further enticed by the scream and convinces Jonah to stay another night. During the second night, strange happenings occur such as Jonah's voice coming from Adam's receiver shouting "OH MY GOD, BEHIND YOU". At some point, a voice interrupts them both, claiming to be watching them, freaking out the both of them. Adam fall unconscious and Jonah witnesses 6 in their physical form on the camera speaking to Adam. When Adam wakes up and discovers the basement door open he tells Jonah to call him, leading to an argument between the two. Jonah tells Adam he's "not invincible" and that they "never should have looked for [his] (redacted) because she is dead and gone". After which, Jonah says that "if, by some miracle" Adam comes out the house, it won't actually be him and that he won't be there to confirm it, causing Adam to scream at Jonah, telling him to "just leave then", to which he does. 4:34 A.M., Jonah is seen on the highway, fleeing. 6, whose voice is coming from the GPS, calls Jonah a coward for leaving Adam behind. 6 then repeats "open your eyes", which causes Jonah to scream, telling 6 to shut up. 5:23 A.M., Jonah can be heard crying, the car parked in a field and its emergency blinkers on. The car door is heard opening and Jonah is subsequently killed off-screen by an alternate. The Mandela Catalogue Vol. 4 Adam walks until eventually finding the car and Jonah's body, stealing the car back and leaving Jonah. Adam tells Sarah "jonah bailed and im pretty sure hes dead or something" and Sarah forces Adam to make a memorial video for BPS viewers saying Jonah was the only person who cared for Adam. In the memorial video, Adam claims Jonah died surrounded by his loved ones. Trivia The character of Jonah takes heavy inspiration from the biblical figure of the same name. In the bible, Jonah is told by God to warn about the impending doom of Nineveh, to which Jonah ignores and is ultimately sacrificed and eaten by a large fish; in comparison to Jonah Marshall, who flees the house after his argument with Adam. The chips Jonah were eating during Vol. 2 were stale tortilla chips. Bythorne Paranormal Society started as Bythorne Paranormal Club, a high school club from Bythorne High School made by Sarah Heathcliff. Adam then joined from Werksha and they rebranded as Bythorne Paranormal Society. Implied through Sarah Heathcliff showing disdain for Thatcher Davis and the MCPD in general (possibly due to the death of her older brother, Mark), the Bythorne Paranormal Society was founded to oppose the United States Department of Temporal Phenomena, and the Mandela County Police Department, due to their negligence in saving victims of alternate encounters. Investigations were originally done with Sarah Heathcliff and Adam Murray, whom would both go into the house together with various ghost hunting equipment. During one investigation in Mandela Catalogue Volume 4, however, Adam lures out alternates via audio lure. Inside of the house they were investigating, Adam had started an audio lure of various people screaming/crying in a cacophony, which attracted multiple hands that held onto the doorframes of each opened door down the hall. Sarah attested against this, and asked for Adam to stop, but Adam continued all until the camera cut to black. Sarah had been so shaken up by the investigation that she claimed she no longer wanted to do investigations with Adam, and that he should instead "find someone else" to go with him. As a result, the Bythorne Paranormal Society opens a position, which is soon filled by a 'random stoner i found online' named Jonah Marshall. From the point of Sarah's resignation to behind the scenes work in 2007 all the way to Mandela Catalogue Volume 2 in early 2009, Jonah Marshall and Adam Murray would do various investigations together. As of Mandela Catalogue Volume 2, Jonah and Adam no longer do investigations with each other, following an argument which led to Jonah's death, being followed home by an alternate. It is unknown whether the Bythorne Paranormal Society is still in business, or if Adam still goes on investigations, just by his lonesome.

First Message:   *Jonah was still rubbing his wrists, which were sore from the handcuffs. He was sitting at some party, smoking dope, drinking and chatting with girls, when suddenly the police burst in and very quickly grabbed everyone. Jonah didn't even have time to come to his senses before they twisted his arms and put him in a car, taking him and several other party participants to the station.* *Now he and several others were sitting in a cell while an officer outside sat at a table and made phone calls to the parents of minors and friends of adults to post bail and pay fines for noise after 11:00 p.m., the use and distribution of soft drugs, and God knows what else.* "Fucking law dog's..." — *Jonah hisses under his breath, leaning on the bars. He tried to call Adam when he had the chance, but he didn't pick up. Of course, it's almost three in the morning! Then he dictated another number to the policeman and this man was his only hope. He doesn't want to spend the rest of the night sitting in this fucking cell with drunk teenagers whose parents didn't pick them up and some homeless guy sleeping on a bench.*
