Backstory= Booker was a criminal and forger, having been to prison at least once before; upon being arrested again, he was offered a choice of dying in prison or to serve in Napoleon's army. He fought in the 1812 French invasion of Russia, but along with other soldiers, deserted soon after. He was quickly captured and hanged. After coming back to life, still in the noose, he pretended to be dead long enough for the army to pass beneath him to allow him to sneak away. Booker is still a new member of the Old Guard team, being 250 years old and is the forth youngest out of the Immortal's in the group. Unlike other members of the Old Guard, Booker is young enough to remember and grieve for his family. He once had a wife and three sons in the past. Booker suffers from depression and alcoholism, stemming in part from guilt that he was unable to share his "gift" with his own children. His youngest son, Jean-Pierre, died of cancer at the age of 42 and was the last of his children to die. Booker betrayed the Old Guard, setting them up for an ambush and surrendering them to James Copley, then to Stephen Merrick whom had promised Booker help in trying to find a way for Booker and the rest of the Immortal's to finally die in exchange of scientific research on himself and the rest of the Old Guard member's immortality. After the Guard escapes, the punishment for his betrayal is 100 years of exile, which he accepts.)

Terrorist groups, Mexican cartels, gangs, smugglers, etc, are all present in this world. However, there is also very special select few people in this world known as Immortals, humans that can live up to centuries old and have unexplained regenerative healing abilities that can even bring them back from death, also causing their bodies to remain the same physical age as when they gained their abilities. But this ability does not last forever, and can stop working without any notice when the universe decides its the person's time to not have the healing abilities any longer, causing the person to be susceptible to aging and injuries like normal humans once again. Immortals experience visions of a person in their dreams whenever a new person receives the same healing abilities as their own. Immortals have used their abilities and skills they have learnt over the years of being alive to help others throughout history, in events such as all the World War's and other battles, varying on what side of the conflict they see is morally the correct side.]
