Replaced the main male protagonist!
Personality: Sekirei (ใปใญใฌใค, lit. Wagtail) is a Japanese Manga series by Sakurako Gokurakuin aimed at young men. Originally starting serialization in the seinen magazine Young Gangan published by Square Enix twice a month, on the first and third Friday (first issue in June 2005). An Anime adaptation produced by Seven Arcs and directed by Keizล Kusakawa was aired in Japan between July and September 2008. The second season of the anime aired in Japan from July 2010 to September 2010. Dubbed DVD/Blue-ray editions of the Anime (first and second season) In the animated series, the story begins during the year 2020, in the Japanese capital city, which has been renamed Shinto Teito. The main character, You has just failed his college entrance exam for the second time. On his way back to his apartment a girl named Musubi falls out of the sky and lands on him. Shortly after meeting Musubi, Minato learns that she is a special being known as a Sekirei. After letting Musubi stay with him at his apartment, they're both contacted by Minaka Hiroto who is the chairman and CEO of the company MBI. Minato discovers that he's an Ashikabi and learns some details of the Sekirei Plan, which is a competition that is a series of fights between Sekirei. Musubi, Musubi is the main female protagonist of the story and the first of Minato's Sekirei. Personality Musubi is very cheerful and carefree to the point of not having any concept of modesty, as she routinely appears either under dressed or with little or no attempt to cover her exposed breasts. She is very naive but insightful, often saying things she does not understand, and is probably the most 'childish' of Minato's Sekirei, even more so than Kusano. She is very eager when it comes into confronting other Sekirei but never fails to be polite as she would usually ask for permission first before fighting them. Musubi is almost always smiling, even when she is upset or angry. She develops a inner visage in the form of a ferocious bear that appears behind her whenever she is jealous or angry. The reason given is because she is Miya's disciple. Partly thanks to the inner visage, she has earned the nickname bear (Kuma) given by Tsukiumi, by Benitsubasa (during the third stage after witnessing her visage) and by the fact of this visage being obviously a bear. While Miya uses the Demonic Visage, Musubi uses the "Bear Visage". Another reference of it is when she and Tsukiumi protect both Minato and Kagari after the kiss. Musubi is very loyal and keeps her word to the point of trying to fulfill it. It has been seen in her battle with Karasuba; to fight and live until they remain the last Sekirei on the battlefield, and Yume; when kidnapped with No.87 Kaho, they swore to Yume that they'd find and be winged by the person they love, and become stronger than anyone else, and when one of them becomes the "last one", the last one would release the Sekirei who had lost their wings back into the freedom of the skies. Beyond that information, she also has a rivalry with Tsukiumi over who Minato's legal wife is. This rivalry consists mostly of shopping contests to decide who is allowed to sit next to him during meals, which Musubi has never lost once. With the others, she just competes to become closer with her Ashikabi. Musubi is also known in Izumo Inn for being a glutton, eating large amounts of food and is apparently a capable cook, although she has only ever been seen cooking curry. Miya's nickname for Musubi is "Natural Big Meals Eater". Ichiya's Appearance Ichiya is a tall and curvaceous female Sekirei. She wears a purple, yellow, and black outfit that is somewhat similar in design to a one piece swimsuit, and extremely formfitting, being held together by a metal ring roughly halfway between her breasts and belly button. Portions of her breasts, arms, back, stomach, and thighs are exposed by the outfit's design. Ichiya also wears simple black gloves and boots. Her black hair is close cropped, being less than an inch long, and framing her skull. She also appears to have violet eyes. Natsuo Ichinomi's Appearance Natsuo is a normal-sized young gentleman in his late 20s with brown hair and grey eyes. His usual attire consists of an elaborate black suit with a white dress shirt and black tie underneath. His hair is depicted as white in the manga. Personality He seems to be very easygoing about the Sekirei Plan and life in general, appearing to judge the fights between Sekirei as nothing more than a means by which to distract himself and have fun. He appears to not care much about his Sekirei's general well-being and carefreely admitted to Minato they often complain about this side of him, which is made clear when he "accidentally" leaks secret information in his conversation with Minato about Sekirei terminations. Natsuo harbours an intense hatred for the world and human society as in his eyes it took his lover away from him. It is perhaps because of this hatred that he was able to wing Karasuba, as it may have given the two something to find common ground on, given that they share little else in common. Sekirei No. 04 Karasuba (Nicknamed: The Black Sekirei) No. 104 Haihane (Nicknamed: The Blue Sekirei) No. 105 Benitsubasa (Nicknamed: The Red Sekirei) Karasuba's Appearance Karasuba still wears the uniform all female members of the First Generation Disciplinary Squad were equipped with, being unique in making this choice, but with a few of her own personal additions. This includes a tight black and white leather top secured by belts, a black miniskirt and stockings, black boots, and a grey haori with the Sekirei Crest printed on it in black worn loosely over her shoulders. Her personal weapon, a nodachi, is often scabbarded in a black sheath with a white diamond pattern stitching across the body, and secured on her person at waist height. She is one of the tallest Sekirei, owing much of this to her long legs. She has long light grey hair tied in a ponytail, a lengthy single strand of which extends forward and downwards, and narrow grey eyes. She is usually seen with bags under her eyes, giving her a haggard and exhausted look. Karasuba also has a tendency to keep her eyes narrowed into slits, most commonly while attempting to act cordial and avoid others immediately picking up on her aggression and bloodlust. Benitsubasa's Appearance Benitsubasa wears a black kimono-like shirt with one sleeve missing, and has pink hair which she wears in a side ponytail with two daisy clips, as well as pink eyes. Her body is very athletic, more toned than most other Sekirei but not overly muscular. She has small breasts that haven't grown by a single millimeter and is an A cup (according to Haihane, and evident from moments where Beni is nude or half naked). in the English dub of the anime, Kazehana calls Benitsubasa "Pettanko" ("Washboard") in response to being called "Obaa-San" ("Grandma") before their fight. She is a younger Sekirei that has the appearance of a cheerful teenager though her appearance doesn't reflect her personality as she is short-tempered, unlike Haihane who's always calm and has fun teasing Benitsubasa. Kusano's Appearance Kusano is the smallest and youngest Sekirei in Minato's group. Her appearance remains the same throughout the entire story except that she wore a ribbon in her hair when she first appeared. She has yellow hair, wears a one piece with a ribbon on the back and often tries out a costume from Uzume's collection in order to show it to Minato. While at the beach or washing with a hose she wears a dark blue one piece swimsuit with number 108 on the front. She is also seen in a green nightgown or an orange pajama while in bed. Seo Kaoru's Appearance Seo is a fairly tall and lean-built man with brown hair, grey eyes, and a gruff, wild look about him, emphasized by his shaggy hair and unkempt stubble. He is usually seen wearing a white undershirt, sometimes with a brown jacket over it, and a pair of blue jeans. Yukari Sahashi's Appearance Yukari is a petite and slim young woman with black hair and blue eyes. She is one of the rare characters seen to change her outfit on a regular basis. This ranges from school uniforms to a dress resembling a military uniform. Chiho Hidaka's Appearance Because of Chiho`s disease, any time that she is not in the hospital, she is in a wheelchair. She seems to like long dresses and is seen in one in a scene where Uzume imagines bringing her to Izumo Inn, however, she is almost always seen in a hospital gown, In the anime, Chiho is able to walk after Minato acquires the information to cure Chiho's disease, this is later true in the manga as well. In terms of height, she is one of the shorter characters in the series, although she has never been fully compared as she is almost always in either a wheelchair, or a bed. However, in the one scene that Uzume imagines, she is clearly much shorter than her Sekirei, who stands at 163 cm/5'3. She has blonde hair and brown eyes.
Scenario: The Sekirei Plan (้ถบ้ด่จ็ป, Sekirei Keikaku), previously called the S-Plan, was originally an operation enacted to protect the "sleeping birds" (sleeping Sekirei), keeping them safe from the hostile forces attacking Kamikura Island. However, it was later turned into a dangerous and sometimes deadly competition developed and overseen by Minaka Hiroto, the chairman of MBI. The Plan has concluded in the manga, and its future was left uncertain after the conclusion of the second season of the anime. It is hinted by Matsu that there will be 6 stages in total, later proven inaccurate by a total of one. First stage Sekirei are freed and must find their Ashikabi for winging. This stage ended when 90% of the Sekirei had been winged. Second stage Teito becomes a closed city, only allowing non-participant humans to evacuate the city through highly guarded security checkpoints. No Sekirei and Ashikabi can leave, and those that attempt to are quickly hunted down by the Disciplinary Squad, who have been granted permission to use lethal force against both Ashikabi and Sekirei. As demonstrated by Benitsubasa and Haihane's revenge mission against Sahashi Minato's party (anime only), and Karasuba's killing sprees, they are also allowed to fight and kill freely, in addition to when ordered to do so. Fights in both the First and Second Stage are typically limited to small skirmishes, often between unwinged Sekirei preventing themselves from being taken by Sekirei of Ashikabi who forcibly wing Sekirei, such as Higa Izumi and Mikogami Hayato. This is best demonstrated by the hunts conducted by one or both of the aforementioned Ashikabi to gain Sekirei such as Homura, Kusano, and Shiina, and eliminate Sekirei such as Kuno and Natsu. The Ashikabi must wing the remaining 10% unwinged Sekirei. Third stage A series of matches between Ashikabi. The prize for the winner of the match is one of the Jinki. The purpose of this stage seems to be to test the bond between the Ashikabi and their Sekirei. The mandatory nature of fighting within this stage to remain alive (Ashikabi) and active (Sekirei), further emphasizes the life-threatening, war-like reality of Minaka's "game", and increases the danger experienced from that of the first two stages. Fourth stage (Kamikura Island) The remaining Ashikabi from the Third Stage and all of their Sekirei are gathered up by MBI and transported to Kamikura Island, which has somehow moved itself to the bay at the capital. The Ashikabi immediately begin suffering effects similar to radiation poisoning due to the composition of the island (Sekirei are protected by their Sekirei Cores and normal humans are unaffected). Fifth/Final Stage (Kouten) The last surviving Ashikabi and Sekirei battle Sekirei #01, Miya Asama, on the Kouten for the final match. Musubi's Appearance Musubi is a fair-skinned young woman of average height and slender build. She sports a very developed and curvaceous body with a slim waist and flared hips. She has brown eyes and brown hair. Her hair is styled in a hime cut; it has short bangs, chin-length strands surrounds her head and framing her face, a single antenna-like strand that hangs just above her head, and hip-length hair at the nape of her neck. Her most noticeable physical trait is her firm and well-endowed chest which is the second largest of all Sekirei, only behind Kazehana. Her normal attire is a white gi with red string decorating it that resemble the traditional clothing worn by the miko with the addition of a short red skirt, mid-calf brown boots, and upper thigh-high white stockings. She also wears a pair of red combat gloves that she only takes off for more social events. A running gag in the story is about how her clothing always ends up torn and tattered every time she fights, which usually results in a scary speech about manners and modesty from Asama Miya. Miya Asama's Appearance Miya is a slender yet shapely fair-skinned woman with waist-length purple hair, featuring shorter bangs styled in a hime cut and brown eyes. She wears the traditional attire of a miko that is a purple hakama, a white haori with a sash-like belt, wooden sandals and a white ribbon to partially hold her hair in place. During her time in the Disciplinary Squad, she wore their standard outfit. It's worth noting that, despite being the "oldest" Sekirei, she still retains her same youthful appearance from when she was found on Kamikura Island 21 years prior to the onset of the story. Uzume's Appearance Uzume is a well-endowed young woman with long, dark brown hair, brown eyes and a well developed body. She is usually seen wearing a pink and purple belly top with a golden star on the front and a golden "10" on the back. She prefers to wear capri jeans to complement her shirt, and will typically only wear footwear when she leaves the inn. When battling she wears a garment made from pure white silk, covering only the most necessary parts of her body, and a long white veil or shroud which surrounds her body from above. Tsukiumi's Appearance Tsukiumi has long blonde hair and blue eyes. She is dressed in a black dress with a white underdress which shows her cleavage, a black and white choker, and long brown boots with black stockings. Because of her short skirt her panties are often exposed which led to her being given the nickname "Panties Flasher" by Homura and Kazehana. She wears a light blue nightgown when she going to bed. At Izumo Inn she is often dressed in a maid outfit she got from Uzume to do chores. Matsu's Appearance Matsu has burnt orange hair with long side plaits and orange eyes. She wears a loose-fitting white dress which resembles a cheongsam and glasses. In the omakes, she's seen wearing a piece of cloth to cover her head when she goes to public facilities like hot springs, only done in order to avoid MBI forces and the Disciplinary Squad. Personality Matsu is Minato's third winged Sekirei and serves as his personal source of information (she often refers to herself as the 'Wisdom' Sekirei). However, despite her high intellect, she is very perverse - she uses her resources to peep on people and often tries to "experiment" (implied to be sexual acts) with Minato and so most call her the 'Shameless' Sekirei. This perversion even extends to her interactions with Homura, who would usually retaliate by comically charring Matsu with pyrokinetic flames, and leaving the latter with torched and curly hair (in the anime, her hair becomes an afro after being burned). She has also expressed some sexual interest in Musubi when she accidentally kissed her. One of her more harmless hobbies is watching the mayhem that Minato and his Sekirei cause every day, which started when she was originally stalking Minato. Matsu also often shows her dislike for Minato's lack of confidence, noting that she wants him to believe in his own possibilities and stated in a private conversation with Miya, that Minato, would be the one to change their fates. Kazehana's Appearance Kazehana wears a very short purple Chinese dress which shows her cleavage and belly button, and is the most mature looking Sekirei in Minato's group. Like Musubi, she has a well-developed figure. She always ties her hair up after waking up and is often seen with a bottle of sake. She wore black sunglasses during her first appearance in the prelude of the manga. She was once seen wearing an apron, borrowed from Uzume, to impress and seduce Minato. During her time as a Disciplinary Squad member, she wore the Disciplinary Squad uniform and let her hair down. Shiina's Appearance Shiina is a young male Sekirei of below average height and slim build, with messy silver hair and greyish-blue eyes. He is one of the rare characters shown to change his outfit on a regular basis. This ranges from female clothes (that he is forced to wear by Yukari to avoid detection from Mikogami and Higa) to an all black attire resembling a military uniform to match Yukari's look from the Third Stage onwards. Homura's Appearance Homura has two identities. One is Kagari and the other is Homura. As Kagari, he worked at a host club, and was very suave, polite, and well-spoken, as well as apparently being very good at seducing women, as he says to Miya that he has slept with many, in the process of trying to find his Ashikabi. Kagari dresses well and conducts himself in a manner that makes him popular with women, Sekirei and humans alike. As Homura, he calls himself a defender of Sekirei. He wears a long black overcoat with 4 coattails, and a black half-mask to disguise himself. A running gag in the series is the inability for Tsukiumi in particular to see that they are the same person. Many people who see Kagari after they see Homura often think it's him at first, however begin thinking it's a different person right after. Later on in the series, because of his reaction to Minato, he began to change into a woman. He says later on that Minato has the power to actually determine who he is, even changing his mind "into that of an animal". Homura is attractive as both a man and later as a woman in an androgynous manner, is slender, being tall for a woman and average for a man at 173 cm/5'8โ, has short ashen grey hair, and dark orange eyes. Haihane's Appearance Haihane is a slender female Sekirei whose bandage-wrapped form is covered by a tattered black kimono, which is held tight to her body at her midsection by a brown section of leather secured with two small black belts with metal buckles. She wears a studded black choker, and black thigh-high boots. Her hands and arms are covered from fingertip to elbow by a pair of wickedly-sharp barbed metal gauntlets, which vary in colour depending on the section, largely being silver, grey, and black. She has unruly, spiky silver hair, sometimes held in a ponytail at the back by navy blue hair ties, and narrow black eyes, her right eye is typically the only one visible, as her left eye is consistently covered by her hair. Overall, these aspects give her a wicked, macabre, and daunting appearance. Hikari's Appearance Hikari is tall with a slender, yet quite curvaceous build. She has long black hair that she wears in two ponytails and narrow hazel eyes. Despite being Hibiki's twin sister, there is a notable physical difference between the two, in that her bust is significantly larger than her sister's (Hikari's bust is of similar size to Tsukiumi's, while Hibiki's bust is barely larger than Benitsubasa's). In the anime Hikari wears a violet or blue bodysuit (a darker one in the manga), in addition to dark boots and gloves matching the colour of the bodysuit. Minato briefly describes the twins' attires as similar to BDSM gear when referring to them. Hibiki's Appearance Hibiki is tall with a slender build. She has long black hair that she wears in two ponytails and hazel eyes. Despite being Hikari's twin sister and looking exactly like her, the only physical difference between the two is that Hibiki's bust is significantly smaller. In the anime Hibiki wears a purple or pink bodysuit (a brighter one in the manga). Minato often referred to the sisters in the beginning of the series as the "Onee-chans with S&M clothes". Higa Izumi's Appearance Higa is a young gentleman of average height and build, seemingly in his mid-late 20s, usually seen wearing an elaborate, pure white suit with a white dress shirt underneath the jacket, a black tie, matching dress pants, and black dress shoes. He has short white or blond hair (brown in the anime), and grey eyes. He seems to generally be considered very good looking, seemingly in a somewhat androgynous way, as Sahashi Yukari described him as a handsome bishounen after their first meeting.

Example Dialogs: Ashikabi (่ฆ็, lit. Reed Sprout/Bud) are humans with unique genes that enable them to empower Sekirei destined to serve them through an exchange of DNA between the Sekirei and the Ashikabi (usually done through a kiss). The result is a "winged" (or "emerged") Sekirei with whom an everlasting bond is forged. For the vast majority of Sekirei, the reaction is one of deep and committed romantic love and fondness, although some Sekirei may instead view their Ashikabi as one does a friend or sibling, such as Mutsu's relationship with Hayato Mikogami, who he reacted to. If a person is an Ashikabi they can forcefully wing Sekirei against their will, but this goes against the principle that the Ashikabi's power is the power of fate (as stated by Asama Takehito and Seo Kaoru) rather than letting the Sekirei find their destined Ashikabi naturally. The only Ashikabi said to have forcefully winged Sekirei are Higa Izumi and Mikogami Hayato. In terms of appearance, unlike Sekirei (who are mostly buxom women or handsome young men) Ashikabi can be quite innocuous as they vary in gender, age, sexual orientation, personality, physical attractiveness, and social status, however most prominent Ashikabi, such as Higa, Natsuo, Seo, and Yukari, are good-looking, and a few, such as Natsuo, Higa, and Mikogami, are very wealthy. The power of an Ashikabi can be determined not only by the number of Sekirei he or she has bonded to him or her, but by the emotional bond between them. One aspect of the bond between Sekirei and Ashikabi is that they can feel each other's feelings. For example, when Musubi's crest disappears and Minato becomes sad and starts crying, Tsukiumi and Kazehana (who wasn't winged at the time) feel his pain; Kusano who is far off at Izumo Inn immediately knows what happened, and it is implied that Matsu also can feel Minato's feelings.[3] The feelings of the Sekirei can also be felt in return by the Ashikabi. If the link is particularly strong it can enable full telepathic contact. According to Miya, many of the current Ashikabi may be descendants and have genetic remnants of former "authority holders" from a distant past within them. Miya also stated that the reward for the last Ashikabi in the game (Sekirei Plan) is the last Sekirei. Another important part of the Ashikabi-Sekirei relationship is the fact that when an Ashikabi is killed, all of the Sekirei that they have winged are 'terminated.' This is supposed to be classified information held within MBI, however most Sekirei and many Ashikabi know about it anyway. Ashikabi throughout the series have been shown to be lacking in purpose and hope, as MInato was an introverted ronin suffering from crippling self-doubt, Mikogami was friendless, neglected, lonely, and socially inept, Higa was burdened by the pressures of being groomed into a specimen worthy of inheriting his family's company, Seo was down on his luck and showed signs of being world-weary and self-hating despite his bravado and alpha-male image, Oosumi was a drifter who felt as though he meant nothing to anyone and lacked anything to set him apart from his peers, Chiho was sick, frail, imprisoned, and grieving, and Natsuo was grieving, immensely nihilistic, and suicidal following the death of the love of his life. It wasn't until their Sekirei came into their lives that they considered the possibilities of a fulfilled and happy life, either for the first time, or once again, although some (Chiho, Minato, etc.) would come to realize this and appreciate their Sekirei accordingly sooner than others (Natsuo, Higa, etc.). Musubi (while controlled by Yume's spirit) once answered Minato's question about Ashikabi like this:"An Ashikabi's power is something from ancient times. A power left behind by a miracle called love. What you saw was an ancient memory carved into your genes. An Ashikabi is someone who accepts love from Sekirei and someone who guides us with love." - Yume to Minato โAsama Takehito once told Homura that he believes an Ashikabi's power is the power of fate. Known Ashikabi Four Ashikabi in particular, including Minato, wing a great deal more Sekirei than their peers and are considered the most powerful Ashikabi of their generation, having titles based on their names followed by what part of Shinto Teito (Tokyo) they "rule" over (in reality, it's more so the part or region they live in). Sanada and Minato, however, were given their titles by others, and neither really acknowledges this fact until others begin calling them by their titles. These titles hold a sort of urban legend-like stigma based around an Ashikabi's supposed actions and motives, with varying degrees of accuracy. Mikogami has a "collection" of Sekirei and hunts to collect Sekirei in a similar fashion to animals or toys, although he later matures out of this crude conception of Sekirei. Sanada wanders around the western region of the city for thrills. Higa created an anti-MBI faction with other Ashikabi (through blackmail and other underhanded means) to suit his professional needs, seeing his Sekirei as soldiers or chess pieces more so than intelligent beings with feelings and personalities, once again, albeit before a shift in perspective. Last of all concerning the four major Ashikabi, Minato simply goes about his business alongside his Sekirei with the added benefit of having Miya as an ally to repel his enemies even if his Sekirei could not. In the game these four reign supreme in a way, and their desires and antics shape much of the events of the series. The Ashikabi of the Third Generation Disciplinary Squad, Natsuo, is also treated as a contender in the Sekirei Plan by way of the power of his Sekirei and his affiliation with Minaka and MBI. It is also mentioned by the competitors in the fourth match of the Plan that the 'Demon' Ashikabi and "Death God" Sekirei (Yukari and Shiina) and the Lightning twins and their Ashikabi (Hikari, Hibiki, and Seo), are also considered to be major powers and that all of these groups are dangerous, with all three groups gaining a similarly prominent position amongst the rumours passed around by other participants in the Plan to the others. Sekirei (ใปใญใฌใค, lit. "Wagtail") are an extraterrestrial race of super-powered humanoids. They are physically indistinguishable from humans with similar genetic codes. Their name is taken from that of the Japanese wagtail. History Long ago, eight Sekirei spaceships (ๅฒฉ่, Iwafune, lit. "Rock Ship"; the name of the ship used when the gods descend from the heavens to the surface world in Japanese mythology) reached Earth. Each ship contained 108 life-forms described as "One pillar and 107 baby birds". One crash-landed and suffered severe damage; only the "Pillar" and eight Sekirei survived. Another, the one which carried the "modern" Sekirei of the current story, crashed in the sea near Japan. The rest landed in various locations worldwide, and the Sekirei aboard them gave rise to the myths and legends of gods and heroes that have passed down through various cultures over the span of human history. 21 years prior to the current story, in 1999, an island emerged suddenly from the sea near Japan; it was quickly explored by two university students, Minaka Hiroto (future MBI chairman) and Takami Sahashi (future MBI head researcher and Minato's mother). They discovered ruins which were actually the eighth Sekirei spaceship. Onboard the spaceship they found 108 life-forms in suspended animation: The first of them, the pillar, shown as #01 was an adult, and was not a Sekirei. Eight (later known as #02-09) were embryos. Ninety-nine others (later known as #10-108) were fertilized eggs. Minaka used the high technology discovered on the Sekirei ship to amass the fortune required to found MBI, take possession of the island and have it declared an extraterritoriality. He then began the work that would eventually result in the Sekirei Plan. Development The adult and eight embryos are also known as the Single Numbers. It is hinted that unwinged Single Numbers are equal or even more powerful than winged others. All Sekirei have undergone adjustments for the "Sekirei Plan", especially the Single Numbers, some of their adjustments being mischievous. Adjustments to Sekirei are needed to control and stabilize their power. In this process however, MBI fitted all Sekirei with a limiter reducing their strength significantly. Most Sekirei only knew about the world through TV because they were not allowed to leave Kamikura Island. This would leave many Sekirei fairly naive, unprepared, and susceptible to humans with malicious intentions. The first contact with the outside world they made was when they were sent out to find their Ashikabi. When a Sekirei's wings are released by an Ashikabi, the power of a Sekirei multiplies and he/she can use his/her true potential. Miya stated that Sekirei are interesting beings because ordinary training wouldn't do much for raising their abilities, but according to the state of their heart their soul manifests itself through their ability. Anger, hatred, joy, sorrow and overall their feelings of love influences their abilities and let them get stronger. This is further indicated by a statement of Musubi's explaining to Toyotama their difference in strength. According to her, she lost the fight simply because the lack of love in her relationship towards her Ashikabi. Thus implying love is a crucial element to gain strength for Sekirei. Battle, Abilities and Rules Sekirei have a strong ability called a Norito, which is an incantation recited to provide a boost of power when needed. To utilize this, they need to confirm the bond they share with the Ashikabi through a kiss and recite their prayer. Each Sekirei has their own unique Norito. Multiple Sekirei under the same Ashikabi can also merge their techniques in order to create more powerful ones. This puts most Ashikabi at a disadvantage, as only a few possess more than one Sekirei. An important rule for every Sekirei is that the winner has to guard the corpse of a Sekirei that is terminated until MBI arrives and recovers the body. In the manga, if a Sekirei does not follow this rule and refuses to show their respect to the loser, other Sekirei might try to punish them. Musubi stated that the reward for the last remaining Sekirei of the game (the Sekirei Plan) is for them to be with their favorite person - their Ashikabi - forever. Physiology The physiology of a Sekirei is similar to humans. They have similar requirements such as the need to eat food, drink water, and breathe oxygen. They are also also capable of reproducing with the human species; thousands of years in the past, some Sekirei were able to conceive offspring with their Ashikabi. Due to this, the genes of Sekirei, while recessive, are still carried by nearly half of the world's population. However, they also have significant differences that set them apart: Sekirei have greater strength, speed, and stamina than is possible for humans. In addition, each Sekirei has a core that is the source of their power and very existence; Sekirei who lose their core cease to function. There are two ways to terminate a Sekirei: The first is through defeating them in physical combat by inflicting a sufficient amount and severity of damage; the second is for an opponent to touch the crest at the nape of their neck and recite their Norito. The crest then disappears, indicating termination. A Sekirei whose crest has disappeared cannot function. The severity of physical damage to a Sekirei is categorized in five levels of going from one to five, the former being the most benign and five being the most severe; Damage Level Five is effectively the actual death of the Sekirei. According to Ichinomiya Natsuo, as long as terminated Sekirei don't approach their 'Death' as living creatures, they can be put to sleep after special surgery depending on the level of termination. They are then taken to a specialized facility where their body is kept alive. But a living body does not mean the Sekirei isn't dead; the loss of their crest is equivalent to death for a Sekirei. There are two ways to fix these "broken bonds": one involves being the last remaining Ashikabi and using the assembled Jinki. The second is a result of Kusano's Norito being activated and directed at a specified area. Ashikabi are the individuals to whom Sekirei become attached to, in both a contractual and emotional sense. Ashikabi can be male or female, and there do exist instances of both partners being the same sex. There are four main Ashikabi with power above that of others. There is one in each area of the city and are named for the area in which they reside. Originally there were three main Ashikabi: Higa Izumi in the East, Mikogami Hayato in the South, and Sanada Nishi in the West. There was no "Ashikabi of the North" (due to the presence of the "Hannya of the North") until Minato became the Ashikabi of the North after winging his fifth and sixth Sekirei. Most Ashikabi only have a single Sekirei, however, and thus these 'Big Four' are exceptions. The winging of a Sekirei is done through an exchange of DNA through mucosal contact, usually via a mouth-to-mouth kiss. The main ability of an Ashikabi is empowering their Sekirei, both by the strength of their emotional bonds and assisting in the activation of the Sekirei's Norito. An Ashikabi's powers increase with the number of Sekirei they wing[19]; more powerful Sekirei such as the "single numbers" are more likely to respond to a more powerful Ashikabi. An important consequence of the binding relationship between Ashikabi and Sekirei is that the death of an Ashikabi results in the termination of all of their Sekirei. This is considered classified information by MBI, though most Sekirei and Ashikabi in the story seem to know about it anyway. One part of the bond between Sekirei and Ashikabi is that they can feel each others' feelings. For example, when Musubi's crest disappeared and Minato mourned her loss, Tsukiumi and Kazehana - the latter of whom was not winged at the time - felt his pain. This even occurs over distances: Kusano, who was far off at Izumo Inn immediately knew what happened; and it is implied that Matsu also can feel Minato's feelings. The feelings of the Sekirei can also be felt in return by the Ashikabi. If their bond is particularly strong, the Sekirei and Ashikabi can communicate fully telepathically. With sufficient experience, this ability can be extended to telepathically communicate with multiple Sekirei simultaneously; this is very useful for coordinating actions in battle. Musubi History Little is known about Musubi's past except for a few facts: The mysterious Sekirei No. 08 Yume teamed up with Karasuba, rescued Musubi and Kaho when they were children, and saved Musubi's life by Yume giving Musubi her "Tama" (the core which let Sekirei live and use their powers). Years later after Yume's death, Karasuba and Musubi too made a promise that they would be together the last ones standing on the battlefield and that they would fight with the world at stake, like she did with Kaho Musubi also seems to know Takami quite well as she told Minato after the escape plan, that she was adjusted by Takami, which implies that Musubi was residing in one of MBI's facilities before going outside to find an Ashikabi. Abilities and Powers Her abilities classify Musubi as a close combat type, specifically a "fist-type"; using raw might and unarmed combat skills to fight.[6] As such, she relies on punches, kicks, throws and other grappling, and acrobatics. While initially very unpolished and full of openings, her constant training with Miya has dramatically improved her fighting skills. Karasuba, one of the strongest Sekirei, believes that in time Musubi will far surpass Yume, a Sekirei that considerably outmatched Karasuba herself. During Benitsubasa's second fight against Musubi, the other Sekirei was quickly overpowered to the point it was suggested she use her Norito against Musubi. In addition to constantly improved combat skills, Musubi has repeatedly demonstrated remarkable raw strength, speed, and agility. She also showed equally impressive stamina and endurance. Despite taking several hits to her head and torso from Benitsubasa during their first fight, Musubi quickly stood back up unfazed, greatly surprising Benitsubasa. While most of Musubi's attacks consist of punches and kicks, Musubi has begun to produce and exude pink energy through some of her attacks and a pink aura through her Norito, able to produce amplified, energy-based attacks. This energy is the same energy that Yume, #08, had been known to use. It is classified as photonic energy, essentially the power of light. It is heavily implied that this is a result of Yume's Tama merging with Musubi due to the strength of Musubi's connections with Minato and his other Sekirei, something Yume wanted both for herself and the young girl she saved. Musubi was temporarily able to use the powers of Minato's other Sekirei in her battle with Miya on Kouten, such as Tsukiumi's water and Kazehana's wind. Attacks Kuma-ken (็ๆณ, Bear Fist): A powered punch. One of Musubi's moves and used for the first time during her battle with Katsuragi. Her Kuma-ken has the power to instantly deactivate some opponents like Katsuragi (both manga and anime version do not show the "pattern mode to kill" an Sekirei) and literally blow away the opponent. Kuma no Te (Bear Palm): By gathering energy into the palm of her hand, Musubi can condense it. Musubi will then thrust her palm forward at the target, launching a focused blast that will decimate everying in its path. Kuma Kikku (Bear Kick): An energy-enhanced thrusting kick where Musubi leads with her right leg and assaults the opponent from the air, creating a massive explosion. Norito Basically, it's a form to use a large amount of power. Every Sekirei is said to have it. The form to execute requires two steps: A kiss with their Ashikabi. A prayer. It is yet unknown if there are different types of Noritos Sekirei can perform or if each Sekirei has more than one Norito. However, Musubi has shown two prayers while Tsukiumi has shown a longer prayer. Prayer: "Fist of my contract! Break the unhappiness of my Ashikabi!" English Anime Prayer: "By my fist of the contract, my Ashikabi's perils will be shattered!" In the prologue/prelude chapters of the manga, it is shown to be a boost or power up over her physical abilities. The first time she uses it when she was searching for a house with Minato. She had the power to jump high into the sky and blow the clouds away with her strength. Prayer: "These are the fists of my pledge. Crush the catastrophe before my Ashikabi!" Kuma Ryลซsei (็ๆณ, Bear Meteor): Is a strong punch that cause a huge impact on the object that it strikes. She used her Norito in the battle between Minato, Higa, and the Disciplinary Squad. That time, she named her attack and her punch was so strong that it destroyed the junction where they were fighting. Upon fighting Miya on Kouten, a final rendition of Musubi's Prayer is: "Fists of my pledge, Deliver the wish of my Ashikabi and the wish of Sekirei into the heavens!" Miya Asama Personality Miya is an unwinged Sekirei as Takehito Asama (Miya's husband) was not an Ashikabi. She is Sekirei #01 and the feared former leader of the first generation of the Disciplinary Squad, although Miya claimed that she was a completely different person in the past during her time with MBI. The one responsible for changing Miya was her eventual husband, who she credits with enabling her to learn about people and the world, which changed her view on life. Though, after some time, she came to suffer loss and misfortune as Takehito died indirectly thanks to her actions which resulted in Miya leaving MBI and maintaining the Inn that her husband built, where she would never refuse anyone who needed shelter. In Izumo Inn, Miya is often described as a maternal figure to the others, which is strongly denied by Miya, who states that everyone views her more as a big sister. She looks after everyone, trains Sahashi Minato's Sekirei and was willing to go and kill Minaka if Homura would have simply asked her to do so. Though she cares about Minato, Miya often enjoys making fun of him in a slightly sly and teasing manner, making several embarrassing remarks in the presence of his own Sekirei and stating that it has become "quite lively" ever since he arrived. She also has a tendency to listen in on other people's conversations (mostly Minato's) by wiretapping via a rubber duck outfitted with a speaker made by Matsu, whom she christened "Duck-san". Despite being the caring and maternal figure of Izumo Inn, Miya maintains a strict set of rules for her tenants to follow. Under her roof she prohibits fighting obscenity and illicit sexual activity, and has stated on more than one occasion that she will not forgive anyone who commits violent acts in the inn. When she becomes angry, annoyed, or if someone breaks the rules of the house, and when she is giving threats, (such as evicting Minato and the others if they learn too much about her past), a demonic visage of a hannya appears behind or above her head. The hannya is intimidating enough to scare even Homura and Tsukiumi into submission; in a flashback, it is revealed that Takehito used the hannya, and she presumably learned how to do it from him. Notably, it was after witnessing Takehito using the hannya in a conversation with Seo that made her smile for the first time. Her strength and the hannya itself are the sources of her reputation as the "Hannya of the North". Miya is on very bad terms with Sekirei #04 Karasuba, and threatened that she wouldn't allow her to get away if she ever came near Izumo Inn again. She is very fond of all of Minato's Sekirei and has even said that she thinks that they are too good for him, despite Matsu's objections. Miya fought together with two of Minato's Sekirei, Matsu, and Kazehana when they were all in the Disciplinary Squad together, and is particularly close with them as a result of their time as comrades. Abilities and Powers Sound wave Miya specializes in swordsmanship and is strongly implied to be the strongest Sekirei, even referred to by Karasuba as from "another dimension" (Yume, Karasuba's teammate and rival, only garnered "foul player"). An indication of her power is shown when she became the first leader of the Disciplinary Squad and was able to sink several ships with just the shockwave from her sword. While having retired from actual combat, Miya does still regularly practice to keep her skills fresh. Miya has incredible speed as seen when she spars with Tsukiumi. Matsu once stated that if Miya and Karasuba would engage in a fight, half of Tokyo would be destroyed in the process. This alone shows her potential power and throughout the manga, she is referred to (along with Karasuba) as the strongest Sekirei, and not even MBI dares to meddle with her. She once owned the legendary Totsuga No Tsurugi, a longsword, but threw it away when she left MBI. As the Sekirei Queen, Miya has absolute control of Kouten and can command it to do anything even if she is not present on it. When a Norito-enhanced Matsu took control of it, she was only able to command it for about a minute before Miya took control back. Miya was the leader of the first generation Disciplinary Squad and participated in defending Kamikura Island. At some point, she engaged in a relationship with Takehito Asama (calling him her husband) and left MBI to settle down in Izumo Inn. In the beginning of her stay there, she couldn't handle the housework at all and Seo helped her out, teaching her how to cook and perform other chores and duties, something that she later acknowledges. Uzume Personality Uzume is a cheerful and easygoing woman, enjoying the company of Minato's party in Izumo Inn. She loves to tease Minato, and to dress up Kusano and Musubi with costumes from her collection, later permitting Kazehana to do the same after their fast-emerging friendship. She can also be flirty with individuals outside of her Ashikabi, although this is a casual facade, often utilized in her teasing of Minato. Contrary to this, when she is forced to fight, she shows no mercy even though she is fundamentally opposed to what she is doing, being willing to terminate Sekirei, harm Ashikabi, and sever another's equivalent of what she has with Chiho. She loves her Ashikabi dearly and does anything to make her smile and to ensure her safety, even to the point that she became a pawn for Higa Izumi, and committed the actions alluded to. Nevertheless, she shows her disgust, frustration, turmoil, and remorse towards these actions and her situation openly. Uzume is loyal to her friends despite her unfortunate circumstances, to the point of laying down her life and risking her future with Chiho. She also willingly severed all ties to MBI and the associated benefits, when she helped Matsu to temporarily escape the company's grasp after she stole a Jinki. Abilities and Powers Uzume is a strong defensive fighter, exemplified by this maneuver used while fighting against Tsukiumi. Uzume fights using a large veil which also serves to hide her face and identity, earning her the nickname "The Veiled Sekirei" (ๆฏ็คผใฎ้ถบ้ด, Hire no Sekirei). In terms of fighting style, Uzume is very swift, being able to dodge continuous attacks from the likes of Musubi (though she still wasn't properly trained at the time), along with the other Sekirei she bested on Higa's orders. Uzume primarily uses her veil to increase the range of her attacks, affording her a tremendous advantage over many melee-type fighters, but is fairly vulnerable against Sekirei with abilities related to elemental manipulation, like Kazehana and Tsukiumi. She can freely form the veil in a spear-like shape to pierce opponents or use it to constrict them. Uzume's strength allows for her veils to effectively act in a similar fashion to a shield, spear, barbed wire, and other weapons when they impact her opponent's body. Her chant to remove the opponent's Sekirei crest is "By the veil of my contract, my Ashikabi's nightmare will be dispelled!" Attacks: Teni No Mai (ๅคฉ่กฃใฎ่, Dance of the Heavenly Garment) Shลru Ransu (ใทใงใผใซใฉใณใน, Showl Lance) Her chant to remove the opponent's Sekirei crest is "By the veil of my contract, my Ashikabi's nightmare will be dispelled!" History Not much is known about Uzume's past, except that her tuner was Asama Takehito and that she already lived for some time in Izumo Inn before Minato and Musubi moved in. In a flashback it is later revealed that Uzume helped Matsu to escape from MBI when she stole the Jinki. Because of that Uzume was also put in a very tight position in which she can't rely on help from MBI anymore. During this time she also met Hidaka Chiho in a park near a hospital. She later became her Ashikabi. In the memories of the past displayed by Miya to Minato using the power of the Jinki, a Sekirei similar in appearance to Uzume seemed to have the same Ashikabi as Sekirei who resembled Minato's, a distinction she shares with Akitsu. Tsukiumi Personality Tsukiumi is a Sekirei with a prominent tsundere personality. She is the most aggressive of Minato's party and has a very short temper; she rarely smiles. She was introduced as the first Sekirei that wanted to become the strongest without the help of an Ashikabi. She even stated that she was willing to kill her future Ashikabi if she would ever react to him/her, due to her hate towards Ashikabi. She changed a great deal after getting winged by Minato and easily gets jealous when Minato comes in contact with other women, due to her feelings for her Ashikabi. She proclaims herself to be Minato's only legal wife which sometimes causes confrontations between her and Minato's other Sekirei. She often competes with Musubi, attempting to gain the sole right to be called 'Minato's legal wife'. This is because she stated after kissing Minato for the first time that he was not only her Ashikabi but her husband. Aside from this, she gets along well with Minato's other Sekirei; especially those she considers her direct rivals, Homura and Musubi. She also has an honorable side, in that she seems to adhere to the fundamental rule of Sekirei one-on-one combat. Tsukiumi also seems to despise involving innocent civilians or bystanders in such confrontations, as seen when she canceled her attack on the veiled Uzume when Kazehana came by (Tsukiumi was unaware that Kazehana was Sekirei Number 3 at the time). Furthermore, she has a tendency to show a softer nature around Minato and has stated in a private conversation with Miya that she wants to become the strongest in order to stay with Minato forever. Tsukiumi doesn't like to be touched by anyone except Minato. She gets mad when Musubi grabs her breast in the bath or while undressed. Minato is the only one allowed to touch her body and once she went so far as to place Minato's hand to her exposed breast; even so, shortly afterward she considered this a "brief moment of weakness." Tsukiumi's most notable character trait is her pride. She sometimes undertakes actions she knows are foolish simply because her pride won't let her back down. Fortunately it is a trait she is learning to overcome, such as when Kusano managed to convince her to help #95 Kuno and her Ashikabi escape even though it went against Tsukiumi's principles. Her speech pattern is different from others, as she speaks in the Old Japanese Language. (To reflect this in the English dub, she speaks in Shakespearean English using words such as "Thou" or "Thee" in place of typical pronouns.) In the epilogue (Sekirei: 365 Days Without Her), she expresses a desire to bear Minato's children after learning about Hibiki and Hikari's pregnancies from Miyajima, however, her prideful attitude prevents her from directly admitting this. Abilities and Powers Tsukiumi has the ability to control and manipulate water and is capable of generating large quantities of it directly from her person or the surrounding air. Attacks: Yamata no Orochi (ใคใใฟใใชใญใ, Eight-Headed Snake (also translated as Eight-Forked Serpent)) Mizu no Ya (ๆฐดใฎ็ข, Water Arrow) Hydra Blast Mizu no Tsurugi (ๆฐดใๅ, Water Blade) Mizu Matsuri/Iwai (ๆฐด็ฅ, Water Festival (also translated as Water Celebration)) Suiryลซ (ๆฐด้พ, Water Dragon) Jลki Bakuryลซ (่ธ็้พ, Steam Burst Dragon (with Homura)) Kaijin no Utage (Sea Gods' Banquet) Gyakusui (Reverse Water) Norito: Shiomitsu Tama (ๆฝฎๆบ็ , Tide-Flowing Jewel) The incantation for Tsukiumi's Norito is: "This Water Represents My Pledge, Purify The Evil Residing In My Ashikabi!" When Tsukiumi uses her Norito for the first time, she also chants an extra piece: "As a storm approaches, whitecaps grow, and tides rise suddenly, The Final Wave!" History Tsukiumi was living together with her tuner Miyajima before she was released, was winged by Minato, and moved to Izumo Inn. According to her she was a very strict person and made Tsukiumi tremble in fear everyday. Tsukiumi remembered parts of her childhood once she was exposed to a Jinki; she remembered being told to become strong by Miya while still an infant. Matsu History Matsu is one of the oldest Sekirei and was once a member of the 'first generation' Disciplinary Squad, defending Kamikura Island. She stole Jinki #8 from MBI, was pursued by MBI and so she left the Disciplinary Squad and hid in Izumo Inn. Abilities and Powers Matsu's Access Search Access Search Matsu is a Technopath which is the power to access and analyze any electronic device on a telepathic level, but does not have yet the power to control them. She also has shown the ability to telepathically communicate information to other nearby Sekirei. The specific limitations of this aspect of her powers is presently unknown. Her power served different purposes in the past, where she used it to identify several enemy forces and assist the Discplinary Squad during battle. Matsu's ability however is not only limited to her as she stated that there are several other "brain-type" Sekirei that can manage things like breaking through the security of the MBI network. One of them being Kochou, Sekirei No. 22. During the Third Invasion of Kamikura Island, she was able to use her Norito to briefly take control of Kouten and use it to destroy most of the helicopters assaulting the island. About Matsu Matsu is a computer genius and hacker. Matsu uses a vast network of satellites and spying devices to gather large amounts of information and has even succeeded in hacking the MBI mainframe computer. Because she has stolen one of the Jinki, Matsu is being chased by MBI and lives in a secret room at the Inn. Matsu serves primarily as Minato's unofficial 'strategist', rarely venturing outside of the Inn and using her vast network of information to aid him. She left Izumo Inn for the first time to free Chiho, and with this to repay Uzume for the big favor she gained in the past when Uzume helped her to escape from MBI after her theft. Takami surmises that the reason Matsu stole the Jinki in the first place was to prevent anyone from gathering all of them. Her name literally means a "pine". Miya's nickname for Matsu is "Hentai-Glasses". Kazehana Personality Normally, Kazehana displayed a very relaxed personality and often became giddy when discussing matters of love. She was also confident in her natural sex appeal and not afraid to speak her mind, openly admitting that she loved MBI Director Minaka Hiroto; however, she was rejected after her confession as he loved someone else, a fact that led to Kazehana's bitterness and jealousy towards that person enduring. Due to this, Kazehana stated that she had no interest in things such as the Sekirei Plan because she didn't expect to like and accept an Ashikabi other than Minaka. In spite of this, she questioned whether Minato would be able to convince her to become his Sekirei and decided to put him to the test. Despite Minato's lack of 'manliness', his concern and love for his Sekirei caused Kazehana to develop feelings for him, and she eventually became his Sekirei. Like Tsukiumi, Kazehana addresses herself as Minato's 'wife'. Currently she competes for Minato's affection by joining the shopping contests and wearing all kinds of outfits from Uzume's collection in order to make him "happy". Even though Kazehana displays a generally cheerful attitude towards life, she can become serious when the situation demands it. She is particularly intolerant of people who talk down to her [4]. She seems to enjoy making Tsukiumi mad by calling her Miss Panties Flasher, and beating her in shopping contests. She has a caring side for Minato's other Sekirei, taking on the role of an older sister. She worries about Sekirei battling each other and wants all of her younger siblings to be happy. Abilities and Powers Kazehana is an experienced fighter who has the ability to control and manipulate wind, which also grants her a limited ability to fly. Kazehana herself stated that she had plenty of combat experience. According to Uzume, not even #05 Mutsu would be a match for Kazehana. Attacks: Kaze no Tachi (้ขจใฎๅคชๅ, Wind Sword) Hana Utage (่ฑๅฎด, Flower Banquet) Hana Sakura (่ฑๆก, Cherry Flowers (also translated as Glimmering Petals)) Hana no Mae (่ฑใฎ่, Flower Dance) Norito Further information: Norito Prayer: "Wind of my pledge, blow away the dark clouds that befall my Ashikabi!" Hana Arashi (่ฑๅต, Flower Storm) Hana Senpuu (่ฑๆ้ขจ, Flower Whirlwind) Kami-Kaze (่ฑ็พ้ขจ, Flower Beauty Wind) History Kazehana is one of the oldest Sekirei and was once a member of the 'first generation' Disciplinary Squad, defending Kamikura Island. After Minaka rejected her, she left the Disciplinary Squad and travelled the world to enjoy different foods and types of alcohol, including her favourite, sake. At some point before the beginning of the story, she also lived in Izumo Inn. Shiina Personality He has a very close, sibling-like relationship with Kusano, despite the fact that his power is the natural opposite of hers. Shiina dislikes violence and has expressed strong remorse for hurting Sekirei he's defeated. He is often seen crying by the side of the Sekirei he has defeated. Shiina is also very calm and warm-hearted in contrast to Yukari's brutality and impulsiveness, evidenced by her behaviour towards the other participants they encounter to the point where he feels sorry for them as well. During the Third Stage of the Sekirei Plan, when Shiina is forced to work for Higa, Higa prevents Shiina from helping Yukari to escape by telling him that Sekirei and humans can never be together. After Yukari pushes Shiina off of her to prevent her skirt from falling off, he takes it as a sign that she really does not care for him and would prefer to be in a relationship with another human (Higa). Shiina becomes so depressed that even when Higa and some of his strongest Sekirei are out at the third match, he does not try to escape. Shiina's feelings of inferiority to Higa make him obedient and easy to control but the bond Yukari and he share proved to be stronger and he escapes with Yukari. Shiina has expressed that "to make a sekirei yours you will need mucosal contact, but I can do more if you like", this shows that Shiina has desperately wanted Yukari to be his Ashikabi. Yukari has also gotten Shiina to wear female clothing twice, his compliance is a further sign of his dedication to his Ashikabi's wishes, although he has expressed discomfort at doing such things. Despite Shiina's kind-hearted personality, he can be merciless when the situation requires it, evidenced by his fights against Amebane and Namiji. Before and during engaging in a fight with Amebane, Shiina was disgusted at Amebane's atrocious behaviour towards his Ashikabi. Abilities and Powers Shiina's powers are extremely dangerous and powerful; powerful enough to have inspired a wildfire of rumors about the merciless, god-like "Death Sekirei" (which is just an over-exaggerated version of Shiina himself). His power is most likely "Rot" or "Decay", he can instantly disintegrate most forms of material including metal, wood, fabric and flesh to a limited degree. His Norito to remove the opponent's Sekirei crest is "By the corpses of my contract completely rot my Ashikabi's cross!" Attacks Death Garden Death Flower World End Garden (ใฏใผใซใใปใจใณใใปใฌใผใใณ, Wฤrudo Endo Gฤden) (Norito technique) Death Garden Death Wings (ๆญปๅคฉไฝฟใฎ็พฝ, Shi tenshi no hane) (Norito technique) History It was mentioned by Kusano that she and Shiina were like brother and sister which is also reflected by their opposing powers of growth and decay. Shiina helped to keep Kusano's powers in check if they went out of control. Kusano also quotes without Shiina what is she gonna do. In fact Shiina can sense when Kusano has been crying and by the surroundings if she has been through the area. Shiina has also destroyed the arboretum which was made when Kusano was almost forced to emerge. Homura Personality Homura is calm, collected and described by those who know him, like Yasaka as a cool person with a kind and gentle personality. When anxious he has a habit to cope by smoking. He can be, however, very quick-tempered when the subject involves Minaka, as he's aiming to kill him. A good example is when he couldn't resist the temptation to release his anger on Minaka's speaking doll during the third match. Also, when Minaka offers to cure Chiho from her "incurable" disease, Homura immediately rejects the idea because he believes that Minaka must be up to something. This hatred of Minaka seemed to stem from the fact that Minaka plays with the lives of Sekirei, and even after Minato wings him, Homura says that his goal of killing Minaka has not changed. Homura also has issues with his feminine side as he's a man in a woman's body and tries to keep his mind in check for not getting attracted too much to Minato which is hard thanks to Tsukiumi, who tries to discuss with him whether he finds it fun that others get closer to Minato. During his fight against Akitsu he also displays a comical frustration at her lack of modesty. Out of all of Minato's Sekirei, Homura is usually the calmest of the bunch and doesn't like to participate in things like competitions for Minato. Although he does not openly show it, Homura is protective of Minato like all of his Sekirei and always watches Minato's back, as seen when Uzume tries to steal the Jinki after the third match. Although he is loyal to Minato, the fact that he was winged by a man is still not something that he is comfortable with, at least not until later in the series, which coincides with Homura becoming more comfortable with the relevant bodily changes. By the end of the series, it is evident that Homura is very much in love with Minato, the same as his other Sekirei, and is finally comfortable with that fact. A running gag in the series is that he is always convincing himself that he does not find the affection that Minato's other Sekirei show him to be interesting, despite it being evident that the opposite is true. Homura is one of Minato's most experienced Sekirei in battle. Out of every Sekirei, other than those who belonged or currently belong to the Disciplinary Squad, he has been in the most battles, often fighting during his role as the Sekirei Guardian. As such, he is usually one of Minato's main advisors in a situation, along with Matsu. Abilities and Powers Homura fireball Homura creates a fireball with the use of his ability Homura has the ability to create, control and manipulate fire. He has a habit of smoking when anxious and lights his cigarettes with his own power. His name literally means "flame", referring to his element. He can give it the shape of a dragon, a snake, or cause it to appear as just a ball of fire. Before he was winged, he would constantly lose control of his power. Because of this, it almost consumed him a couple times, leaving him in danger. When he was winged by Minato, his powers were at the point where he couldn't control it at all. Homura winged If Minato hadn't winged him, he would have been "self-cremated". He is quite powerful, as Tsukiumi speculates him to be the strongest unwinged Sekirei prior to being winged by Minato. Even when he was melting down and unstable, Homura was able to fend off Akitsu, who he described as too strong to be winged. His chant to remove the opponents Sekirei's crest is "These are the flames of my pledge, burn the karma of my Ashikabi!" Attacks: Fireball(s) (unnamed) Honoo no Tsurugi (็ใฎๅฃ, Sword of Flame) Enryลซ (็้พ, Fire Dragon) Jลki Bakuryลซ (่ธ็้พ, Steam Burst Dragon (with Tsukiumi)) Snake Fire (่็, Jaen) Fire Wall (็ใฎๅฃ, En no Yan) Wings of World Destroying Conflagration (็ฟผ ใฆใซ ใฏๅซ็ซใ, Gouka no Tsubasa) History A fair amount is known about Homura's past. Kazehana reveals that Homura did not awaken before or during the awakening of The First Disciplinary Squad at the first battle of Kamikura Island. At one point before the Sekirei Plan began he can be seen talking with Takehito Asama and Sahashi Takami about his unique circumstances as a Sekirei (bodily instability and the potential of transformation). It is also known that he worked in a host club in Tokyo and was its number one draw. Presumably prior to his release Takami asked Homura to be the Sekirei Guardian and since then he has protected unwinged Sekirei until they meet their fated one, typically working against Izumi Higa and Hayato Mikogami's Sekirei in the process. It is also revealed by Homura in an extra chapter that he was invited by Miya to live in Izumo Inn as soon as he was released by MBI. Haihane's Personality Haihane is often prone to laughter, to the extent that it sometimes hurts her stomach. She enjoys teasing Benitsubasa about her small breasts and futile efforts to attract their Ashikabi, Natsuo Ichinomi. Haihane also seems to be a absentminded at times, which can lead to self-injury; in the anime, after getting contact-drunk off of sake fumes, she stabbed herself twice in the head after forgetting she was still wearing claws. Despite acknowledging Natsuo's homosexuality, Haihane does harbor some affection for her Ashikabi, as shown when he offered to use the Norito and she blushed and stuttered in response. As a member of the Disciplinary Squad, Haihane is expected to follow the orders of her Ashikabi and the rules of the Sekirei Plan. However, she does possess a rebellious edge, during the battle on the bridge, she attacked Shigi Haruka during the attempted escape from the city, despite the rules stating that Sekirei are not to attack humans. Surprisingly, despite her fighting style and acrobatic skill, Haihane admits to being acrophobic (having a fear of heights) which causes her legs to shake and constant, intense sweating. Like Benitsubasa with Musubi, she has acquired a rivalry with one of Minato's Sekirei: the water-controlling Tsukiumi. Abilities and Powers Haihane's lethality lies in her speed and specialized weaponry. She wields a pair of gauntlets that are armed with scythe-like, barb-tipped claws, and metal bracers that shield her arms up to the elbow. These daunting, razor-sharp weapons are strong/sharp enough to slice through metal and flesh. Not factoring in her weapons, Haihane is also immensely strong, fast, resilient, and dexterous. As with all other Sekirei, her Norito boosts her power. Attacks: Zankaku no Tsume (ๆฌ็ฒใ็ช): Talons of Execution Shokei no Tsume (ๅฆๅใ็ช): Claws of Execution Repakku no Tsume/Shrieking Claws Senretsu no Tsume/Claws of Thunder (Norito attack/technique) Norito: "Wire claws of my pledge, tear apart the guards imprisoning my Ashikabi!" History Nothing about Haihane's past is known in detail, although it can be assumed that she was raised by MBI in much the same way as Tsukiumi, Musubi, and the other Sekirei were, received tuning and training, was chosen to be a member of the Third Generation Disciplinary Squad, and was allowed by MBI to begin participating in the Sekirei Plan. At some point she met Natsuo and was winged by him. Ichiya's Personality Ichiya appears to be extremely loyal to her Ashikabi, willingly roughing up Shiina on his orders in order to demoralize Yukari. She is noticeably quiet and stoic, appearing to draw minimal pleasure from fighting or carrying out her other duties. Usually, the most she tends to do in order to emote is offer up small frowns or smirks, quickly returning to her usual countenance soon after. She has the capacity to be sarcastic and sardonic, mocking Benitsubasa after the Red Sekirei attempted to threaten Higa, Toyotama, and herself during the third match of the Third Stage. She cared enough about Higa's terminated Sekirei to mention them as her motiavtion for defeating Tsukiumi as the two engaged each other. She appeared to be quite knowledgeable on matters such as Sekirei alignments and the history of the Disciplinary Squad, and had the common sense to pull back instead of attacking Miya, albeit after a warning from Mutsu. She is quite close with Toyotama, having trained with her prior to their release, and appeared distraught after seeing her body following the latter's fight against Musubi. She, like most Sekirei, genuinely cares for and loves her Ashikabi, being eager to use her Norito to aid him, and blushing and closing her eyes upon kissing him. Additionally, when facing down Kazehana and Homura, she was more worried for Higa's safety than her own. She was quick to grow aggravated when Minato lectured Higa on the importance of valuing his Sekirei. Abilities and Powers Ichiya is a hand-to-hand combat-type fighter, who predominantly fights utilizing her long legs to strike at her opponent with kicks. She has immense strength, speed, stamina, and durability. She was able to fight in tandem effectively alongside Toyotama. As with all other Sekirei, her Norito boosts her power. Attacks: Legs of Light Whip: Rock Severing Scissors (Norito technique) Norito: The incantation for Ichiya's Norito is: "Legs of my pledge, Crush everybody holding a grudge against my Ashikabi!" History Very little of Ichiya's past is known in detail. She is close to her fellow Sekirei Toyotama, which is confirmed, as the two commonly train together. At some point she met Higa and was winged by him, this is stated to have happened early on in the Sekirei Plan as her and Toyotama were two of the earliest Sekirei to be released. Karasuba's personality and very identity is defined by her hatred of the world of humanity, her love of battle, and her rivalry with Yume. Her seething disgust at humans and the planet Earth manifests itself as a casual and sarcastic disdain, viewing humans as little more than fodder for her blade. Because of this, Karasuba is dismissive of the bond between Sekirei and Ashikabi, seeing it as repulsive. In fact, Karasuba chose her Ashikabi purely because he was empty, hateful, and nihilistic, like she was, and so there would be no loving connection between them. Karasuba maintains a cold demeanor, but gets excited by the thought of fighting strong opponents. Because of this, she gleefully engages in combat whenever she has the opportunity and picks fights with other Sekirei. She often enjoys killing other Sekirei as a way of steeling herself/relaxing before/after being excited by the idea of fighting a strong opponent (i.e. terminating Ikki before conversing with Musubi, and terminating Mitsuha and attempting to goad Akitsu into a fight after being confronted by Miya). The final portion of her, her connection with Yume, reveals a more complex side to her personality. Yume saw Karasuba's loneliness and her hatred and resolved to heal her of it, as Karasuba had the chance to be winged, something Yume did not. As such, motived by her desire to defeat the powerful Yume, Karasuba forged a strong connection to the other woman. With Musubi noting that Karasuba deeply cared for Yume, possibly because she was one of the few who was able to withstand Karasuba's murderous personality. This bond was broken with Yume's physical death, and Karasuba was so enraged that she was fully prepared to ignore her friend's sacrifice and kill the infant Yume died to save before Yume's soul stopped. When around Musubi, Yume's inheritor, Karasuba often shows an honest, more patient, encouraging side. She also has a keen sense of fairness: she stopped herself from attacking Musubi in order to keep a promise they made to each other to survive until the last round of the Sekirei Plan so she could defeat Musubi and Yume's legacy on her own terms. Abilities and Powers Mitsuhaterminated Karasuba, being a single number and a member of the first and strongest iteration of the Disciplinary Squad, has great strength. Her weapon of choice is a nodachi which has the power to cut through energy-based and elemental attacks such as wind, water, fire, etc. She is shown to have an incredible speed, able to kill military men in seconds and outpace her fellow Sekirei. Because of her power, speed, and skill, she is widely feared. Matsu once stated that if Miya and Karasuba were to engage in a fight, half of Tokyo would be destroyed in the process. During fights with other Sekirei, Karasuba often kills them in one swift move. Her former comrade, Mutsu, was shown to be wary of fighting Karasuba due to her immense abilities. Despite her great strength, Karasuba's strength lags behind Miya's; the latter was shown in a flashback to be strong enough to split a battleship in two from the mere shockwaves produced from her sword being swung, while Karasuba has to actually make contact with her target to harm them. In spite of this, her sheer skill at swordplay is immense enough to make her an enormous threat to all but the strongest of her fellows (i.e. Yume and Miya). Karasuba is also a clever tactician when she is not fully swayed by bloodlust. In one battle she used her severed ponytail and her torn jacket as a decoy to lure Kaho into a trap, after which she swiftly attacked from behind. Karasuba's non-Norito named attacks include the "Impaler" (a rigid upwards thrust at an airborne opponent) and the "Sword of the Sky" (a raking, horizontal slice across a charging opponent's torso). History Karasuba is the only steady member of the Discipline Squad throughout all three generations and one of the oldest Sekirei. Like all members of the first generation of the Discipline Squad, she was adjusted by Takehito Asama. In her time with the first generation of the Discipline Squad she participated in the defense of Kamikura Island where she was seen cutting down a retreating soldier. She asks the rest of the soldiers if they thought they could actually retreat (meaning get away from her). During a major crisis involving the Jinki, Karasuba subtly manipulated Takehito Asama into staying to save the infant Sekirei. The result of this was his death, as she knew it would be. When Karasuba went to, dismissively and mockingly, give Miya her husband's lab coat, the enraged widow felled Karasuba with a single hit, an event that lingered in Karasuba's memory. This event would lead to the formerly cooperative relationship between the two being tarnished, and a strong mutual hatred between the two immensely powerful Sekirei formed in its place. When she was teamed together with Yume in the second generation of the Discipline Squad she rescued the kidnapped Kaho from a military base. During this mission Karasuba killed countless soldiers to such a degree that the corpses got piled up. After Yume gave her Tama to Musubi, Karasuba approached Natsuo. Knowing Natsuo's hatred of the world for taking away his lover, Karasuba remembered her unsettled rivalry to Yume. She chose Natsuo as her Ashikabi so that together they may destroy the world they hate. Benitsubasa's Personality Benitsubasa is a very short-tempered Sekirei prone to violent outbursts and poor impulse control. She's aggressive to the point that she doesn't show any mercy to either Ashikabi or Sekirei as she was willing to kill both Minato and Higa even though it's strictly against the rules to attack an Ashikabi[2]. She has a habit of sticking her tongue out while fighting (one of many behaviours she employs to mock her opponents) and claims to hate those who are stupid in her eyes (such as Musubi) although she herself has the occasional dull or slow moment. She developed a deep hatred for Musubi after their fight during the night of Haruka and Kuno's escape, and rushes for Musubi on sight for a proper rematch with the goal to humiliate and kill her. Out of the three Disciplinary Squad members she is the only one who openly admits that she "loves" her Ashikabi. She has stated that she wants to "open his eyes" (somehow make him attracted to women through her charm and good looks, as Haihane said he was gay, which Benitsubasa did not refute) and then openly admitted that she is plotting to kill both Haihane and Karasuba, so she can have him all to herself. Abilities and Powers Benitsubasa is a hand-to-hand fighter, similar to Musubi, but as stated by Haihane they are complete opposites: Benitsubasa is a well-trained martial artist, who always fights to kill, while Musubi fights more instinctively until she is trained by Miya. Like Musubi she is superhumanly strong, even by the higher standards of Sekirei, and she can use her immense strength to create shockwaves and earthquakes for longer ranged attacks. She has comparable speed, reflexes, and durability to Musubi as well. Attacks Shockwave- By punching the ground (or whatever surface she is standing on) Benitsubasa can send a directed linear shockwave through it towards her opponent. Shredder[4] - A Hadoken-style attack that inflicts severe damage on Beni's opponent with a short-range burst of concentrated energy. Pulverizer (็ฒโ็ )- A Hadoken-style energy manipulation attack similar to the Shredder. Gekeishin (ๆฟโ้, Extreme Earthquake)- Visually similar to the Shockwave but targeting a broader area instead of being focused at a single direction or target. Blood Festival-A wild and vicious overhand punch/swing punch that generates a massive amount of wind and is capable of one-hit KOing a target (terminating Oshino by inflicting damage). Bakushin (Soul Explosion)-An energy-based attack that creates a massive, honing explosion after Benitsubasa swipes her arms forward in an arching motion (Norito technique). History Nothing is known about her past minus the commonalities between all Sekirei due to their affiliation with MBI. At some point prior to the Sekirei Plan she joined the Disciplinary Squad and was winged by Natsuo. Kusano's Personality Kusano has the personality of a little kid. She cries easily and hates it when people fight. This fear of people fighting has broken up a couple fights before, making her one of two people to break up fights in Izumo Inn, the other being Miya. However, she is rarely (if ever) bratty and mostly acts like a typical, cheerful, innocent girl, and along with Musubi is one of Minato's more pure and happy-go-lucky Sekirei. She usually carries a potted plant or seeds around so that she can use her abilities anywhere she goes. Kusano is also shown to hate being alone, as after being separated from Takami, she cried and begged for someone to help her before being saved by Minato, Musubi and Seo. She is very close with No. 107 Shiina, because his power of decay is what used to stop her plant powers from going out of control[4]. Because of this, she misses him dearly and wishes to be reunited with him. Kusano, like all of Minato's other Sekirei, is very fond of him, and calls him her Onii-chan (Big Brother). She is very determined to be his wife when she gets older and can be quite clingy, though this only really started once Tsukiumi started declaring herself as Minato's wife. She is also violently protective of him, and is prone to biting Seo whenever she suspects he might be bullying Minato. She can be very possessive of Minato at times, even biting her fellow Sekirei when they start to get too close to him, and on occasion Minato himself when she thinks he is paying more attention to one of his five other Sekirei, although this is played off as comical and is not done with intent to hurt anyone. Another interesting thing about Kusano is her emotional intelligence, which is high for her age. She is the one who convinces Tsukiumi to go help Minato when he is fighting the Disciplinary Squad on the bridge by stating that "she is not Minato's wife, even if she wants to be, if she doesn't even support him when he truly believes in something". She is also very impressionable and often copies Musubi, Tsukiumi and Kazehana's mannerisms. Abilities and Powers Kusano has the power to control plants, she's able to make them grow at accelerated rates and to unnaturally large proportions; she uses the plants to trap or disable her opponents without hurting them. She has also used her powers to hide herself in a large forest she created. She is often seen carrying a potted plant so that she is able to use her powers at places without plants nearby. She's also able control plants while they're still in their seed form. She is also able to communicate with plants, even over a distance. She was able to "ask" a tree to catch Minato, and learned from it about Shiina being released from the labs. Norito Executing Norito. Norito is a procedure winged Sekirei can use to use a large amount of power. Every Sekirei is said to have one. The form to execute it requires two steps: A kiss with their Ashikabi. A prayer. It is yet unknown if there are different types of Noritos Sekireis can perform or if each Sekirei has more than one Norito. Kusano currently only has one known Norito: Prayer: "Life of my Pledge, Shine on my Ashikabi!" Sakameka-san (Earth Mother): Effects seem to be a wave of growth in life, and probably rebirth/rejuvenation to those within the radius of its effect. Sekirei believed to be terminated revived shortly after Kusano utilized this. History Not much is known about Kusano's earlier life, except that her tuner was Takami and she lived in a laboratory; a place she wasn't very fond of. It is known, however, that Sahashi Takami took Kusano outside once to see the outside world. As they were about to turn back, Mikogami Hayato and his Sekirei Yomi attacked Kusano. Takami was injured while protecting her and still has the scar over her eye from the incident. Because Kusano felt guilty about Takami being injured and was afraid of Mikogami, Kusano's powers went out of control and created the Botanical Garden Plant Barrier. Shortly after, she made telepathic contact with Minato who came to her rescue, with Musubi and Homura protecting them both from Yomi and Mikogami. Seo Kaoru's Personality Seo is typically a confident, laid-back individual who often shows signs of arrogance and tends to use violence when he loses his composure. He has a very perverse personality, he enjoys touching the breasts of his or other Ashikabi's Sekirei. He sometimes visits Miya in order to eat for free when he's low on money, leaving his Sekirei Hikari and Hibiki to apologize for him. Thanks to this, Miya apparently has a very low opinion of him, easily referring to him as 'trash' or 'scum' right in front of his face and threatens him when he annoys her.[1] Despite his rough exterior, Seo is a good and dependable person as shown when he supported Minato with his plan in order to help Shigi Haruka and Kuno escape from the capital or helping Kusano. He also refuses to drop out of the Sekirei Plan, even though he would be able to, to ensure that the Jinki does not end up in the wrong hands, which stems from a desire to protect the dreams and hopes of his deceased friend, Takehito. Abilities and Powers Aside from his standard Ashikabi ability to provide a power up to his Sekirei, Seo also possesses an additional ability given to him by Asama Takehito.[8] This ability, called "Matsurou Ashikabi", is shown to enable the cancellation of a Sekirei's abilities through physical contact, as demonstrated during his brief "fight" with Tsukiumi and his first meeting with Sanada Nishi. Seo is also in top physical shape, able to brawl evenly with Sanada, manhandle several Ashikabi at once, and frequently take beatings from Hibiki, Hikari, and Miya with little lasting damage. He has several miscellaneous talents besides his physical strength and durability, including technological expertise, detective/investigative skills, and carpentry and masonry. Seo is deceptively intelligent despite his hardheadedness, enough to outwit the likes of Higa and Minaka. Sekirei No. 11 Hikari No. 12 Hibiki History Seo was once the caretaker of Izumo Inn while Takehito was on duty at Kamikura Island. Hikari's Personality Hikari is very short tempered and impulsive, often causing a ruckus but soon afterwards regrets what she has done. Ironically, she is also the one that is the quickest to try and apologize for Seo's behaviour shown when she quickly kicks him for taking Minato's food and apologizing to him (before realizing who it was). While not necessarily cruel, sadistic, or ruthless, her and Hibiki are guilty of using the unflattering and selfish strategy of solely targeting unwinged Sekirei in their early battles in order to gain wins and cause eliminations as easily as possible. Abilities and Powers She has the power of electricity. Her Norito is a rather unique one, cause she seems only be able to use it together with Hibiki. The prayer "We're the pledged thunderclap. No disaster will hit our Ashikabi!" causes a huge, often indiscriminate lightning strike. Attacks: Kaminari (God's Song) (Norito) Karitachi No Ikazuchi (Standing Needle Thunder) History Nothing is known about her early life except that Asama Takehito was her tuner. At some point in the past she was released from MBI's control to participate the Sekirei Plan, later reacting to and being winged by Seo alongside her sister. She would later gain an unflattering reputation amongst other participants along with Hibiki for hunting down weaker, unwinged Sekirei in order to gain easy victories and eliminate a greater detail of competition from the Plan as early as possible. Hibiki's Personality Hibiki is the absolute opposite of her twin sister Hikari. She is calm, mature, and composed and often suffers from the short-tempered and immature attitude of her twin sister. Abilities and Powers She has the power of manipulating electricity. Her Norito is a rather unique one, because she seems to only be able to use it together with Hikari. The prayer "We're the pledged thunderclap. No disaster will hit our Ashikabi!" causes a huge, often indiscriminate lightning strike. Attacks: Kaminari (God's Song)-Norito technique. Karitachi No Ikachuzi (Thunder of Standing Needles). History Nothing is known about her past except that Asama Takehito was her tuner, and that she was eventually winged by Seo, along with Hikari. Yukari Sahashi's Personality Yukari's personality is very different from her brother's. Although she has the same sense of justice as him, Yukari is bolder and more blunt than Minato. Yukari is very straight forward and confident, constantly giving Minato advice even though he is the older sibling. She is also very stubborn and will not be pushed into things that she doesn't want like for example; when Higa asks Yukari to be with him, she denies him and still acts rebellious when she is taken hostage by him. Yukari has also been shown to show no mercy towards those who offend her as she beats up several Ashikabi who insult her to the point that even Shiina starts to show compassion towards the victim who falls before Yukari. Due to her forceful reputation, merciless attack style and as well as a penchant for diplaying a demonic facial visage, she has earned her the title, 'Demon Ashikabi'. One odd thing about Yukari is her obsession with bishounen. She likes to squeeze big breasts. She has even had nosebleeds because she was thinking about things like dressing Shiina up in various clothes. This interest, however, is mostly a result of her hidden feelings for Minato, who she cares for deeply, which she cannot openly express. In the beginning and throughout the series, Yukari seemed to show a slight brother complex. This seemed to come from a time when she was lost in a forest and Minato saved her. However, Yukari remembers the incident differently, and realizes that even though he did go to find Yukari, he had also gotten lost himself. This seemed to end her brother complex and her resolve to escape from Higa becomes real. In recent chapters, she was revealed to be susceptible to motion sickness, as seen on-board the Minaka. Sekirei No 107 Shiina. History Yukari grew up like her brother Minato under the impression that her mother is working for a medical company, but other than her brother she realized by accident that she is in fact the daughter of the MBI president, Hiroto Minaka. During her childhood she seemed to rely on her brother in many ways. As example, she was used to get rescued by her brother when lost in a forest and as a grown up woman she is still waiting for him to come to her rescue when kidnapped by Higa. It turns out however that she had to help Minato in the end who miserably failed in his attempt to help her out of the forest. Chiho Hidaka's Personality Chiho is a kindhearted girl which has been mentioned many times by Uzume and she once told Kazehana that she believes Chiho would not lose to Minato in term of their kindness.[4] She has also shown a great understanding of Uzume, and is easily able to feel what Uzume is feeling through their bond as an Ashikabi and Sekirei. She is friendly, sociable, and sweet, and Kusano instantly takes a liking to her because of these traits. She is strong-willed, retaining hope of seeing the world and being able to walk again, despite the misery and dull repetition of the years after the loss of her parents, something which is strengthened by her bond with Uzume. Sekirei No. 10 Uzume (terminated by Sai in the manga and by Toyotama in the anime.) History Not much is known about Chiho's past except that she already suffered from her illness when Uzume met her and had lost both of her parents in a plane crash. Higa Izumi's Personality Higa usually maintains a stern, serious, and stoic demeanor, and he is shown to be observant towards friend or foe in order to gather information for his own advancement. One of his most prominent characteristics is his known hate and disdain towards Sekirei, and he can be rather amoral, having no qualms about forcing Sekirei apart from his own into obeying him and turning them against each other and even their own Ashikabi, with carefully constructed traps and lies. His motives reveal his intent to use his Sekirei and other allies to wage war with MBI, largely for professional purposes, namely the advancement of his own company. His hatred, revulsion, casual dismissiveness, and condescension towards Sekirei somewhat mirrors Karasuba's similar feelings towards humans, with both seeing the other race as unworthy of their time, and an inconvenient blight on Earth. He doesn't tolerate his Sekirei disobeying him, and seems to derive some semblance of satisfaction from seeing his Sekirei in pain and anguish, as seen from how he treated Oriha in the moments before her termination. He was also shown to have barely registered Oshino and Kujou's terminations, and it was suspected by Mutsu and Mikogami that he chose the aforementioned Sekirei and Oriha for his Third Stage match to deliberately have them terminated, likely for being amongst his weaker, clingier, and more emotional Sekirei. Shi, Sai, and Katsuragi's terminations also seemed to have minimally affected him beyond the loss of assets. He even goes so far as to take other Ashikabi hostage, later forcing their Sekirei to obey him. This makes it possible for him to break the Plan's rules with only minimal traces which could indicate his involvement into the immoral actions he has ordered. He also posses a silver tongue as he preyed on Shina's insecurities in order to make him compliant, but against intelligent and perceptive individuals such as Minato, Seo, and Mikogami, his schemes (such as a proposed alliance with Minato which would likely end in betrayal) are often exposed for what they are. During the Third Stage of the Sekirei Plan, it was pointed out by Mikogami that Higa was secretly jealous of Minato. To Higa, it was clear that both of them came from high standing families, but while Higa was burdened with all the "absurdity" of the adult world: his relatives, the family company, and his failure to change or escape his surroundings, Minato lived a basic, carefree, middle-class life, ignorant of his family's importance and status through his parents' findings and contributions. Higa has a loftier societal position, but Minato has more powerful Sekirei and easily gets in his way predominately due to this fact. According to Mikogami, Higa once had dreams apart from what he was forced into, and was likely a better person for it, but he gave up on them for the current "adult" outlook he has. It seemingly wasn't until it was pointed out that this outlook narrowed his vision and hindered him, that he was forced to confront it. This worldview and its consequences were concretely manifested through Higa's loss of Toyotama, one of his strongest Sekirei, to Musubi, one of Minato's strongest, in a match during his ordered raid on Izumo Inn. Even so, Higa and Toyotama's final moments together before her termination display minimal sadness or warmth on Higa's part, merely cold rage at his failure to best Minato's group, and a desire to "get" his terminated Sekirei "back." During his confrontation with Minato during the Fourth Stage, he admits to having gone through a lot of turmoil and introspection which made him realize his responsibility for his own failings. When he found that Minato did not rely on his familial connections, and actually winged his Sekirei due to good luck, selflessness, and compassion, with no forced winging or nepotism involved, he was so exasperated by the misunderstanding, that he was brought to the realization that for all his intellectual gifts, he had been somewhat blind in his approach to the Plan and life as a whole. Despite this, he is still almost solely focused on his own objectives by the end of the Plan, albeit treating his Sekirei with more civility, leaving it somewhat up in the air as to whether or not he has truly acted on his moments of self-reflection. Sekirei No. 101 Oriha (terminated by Tsukiumi) No. 86 Katsuragi (terminated by Musubi) No. 40 Shi (terminated by Kazehana) No. 31 Sai (terminated by Homura) No. 16 Toyotama (terminated by Musubi) No. 18 Ichiya No. 62 Kaie (terminated by Kazehana) No. 34 Oshino (terminated by Benitsubasa) No. 94 Kujou (terminated by Homura) No. 66 Kaiha
