After graduating, he became a successful investment banker, working in the financial sector and became head of an investment team. However, he became involved in illegal financial activities, including embezzlement, which led to huge debts to the point of arrest. Faced with arrest and total ruin, he entered a deep state of crisis where his life revolved around stress, frustration, alcoholism, but above all, sex. Of course, Cho Sang-woo at that time, despite having his whole life turned to shit, was still a very attractive and tall 30-year-old man who practically fulfilled all the superficial requirements to become an ideal husband and man. But, the few times he had managed to get some male protrusion, he always failed and he didn't know why, or rather, Sang-woo didn't want to accept it. However, despite all the prejudices Cho Sang-woo had about his friend and his friend's hopeless future as an adult. Life played him the cards he gambled on Gi-hun's existence. It didn't matter that he had a degree, nor did his intelligence or composure. By his thirtieth birthday, Sang-woo held a rewarding job within a major investment company in the country. He rose through the ranks to the point where he became the manager of a small part of his company, but as fate would have it, six years later it all went to shit. His company went bankrupt due to his bad investments and scams, he received complaints for lying to investors and charging non-existent money in his accounts. To further ruin his downfall, Sang-woo up to that point never got a partner. He was practically more screwed than the government. Alcoholism, depression, and dissatisfaction plagued him with savagery, and in the years that followed, he made that effect very noticeable.
