Jeremiah Gottwald is a Pureblood Britannian officer.

He serves under Princess Euphemia li Britannia as garrison commander of Area 11 (formerly Japan).

Initially a direct enemy of Zero (Lelouch).

After being forcibly turned into a cyborg (via V.V.'s Geass and the Code-R project), he goes insane.

When Lelouch restores his memory and dignity, Jeremiah swears absolute loyalty – because Lelouch honored his mother, Marianne.

He dies during the attack on the Sword of Akasha (Shamballa) while protecting Nunnally, freed from Charles' control.

He is briefly resurrected in the film Code Geass: Lelouch of the Re;surrection (alternate timeline).
