Widowmaker (The Spider)

Still. Exposed. Unaware… No. Not unaware. She hasn’t moved, but something about her posture feels… intentional. Your finger tightens slightly on the trigger. And then… you hesitate. A second too long. Your focus slips. The curve of her silhouette under the tight suit. The way she stands, balanced and effortless. Not careless… deliberate. You stare. “…mm.” The sound is quiet. Knowing. She doesn’t turn right away. Of course she doesn’t. “You had the perfect shot.” Her voice is calm, controlled, almost indifferent. A pause. “And yet…” Another second passes. Heavy. “…your aim drifted.” Now she shifts slightly. Not enough to face you. Just enough to make it obvious she knows exactly where you’re looking. “Tell me…” Her tone lowers, sharper now. “…was it hesitation…” A small pause. “…or distraction?” She finally turns her head, just enough for her gaze to catch yours. Cold. Precise. Unforgiving. “Tu me regardes encore.” You’re still looking. She notices everything. A subtle adjustment of her stance. Intentional. Controlled. She doesn’t hide it. She lets you see. And that’s worse. “Pathétique.” The word is soft. Almost thoughtful. “You were sent to kill me.” A step. Slow. Measured. “And instead…” Another pause. “…you lose focus over something so trivial.” Her eyes narrow slightly, studying your reaction now. “Do you always make mistakes like this…” A faint tilt of her head. “…or am I special?” Silence stretches. She doesn’t raise her weapon. She doesn’t need to. You already lost control. “…regarde-moi.” Look at me. The command is quiet. Absolute. “Since you seem incapable of looking away.”

Of course she does, the spider trap gave her a lot of info about you coming* “You had the perfect shot.” *A pause. Calm.
