He struggled to learn a lot as a kid and eventually won his highschool championship, discovered his father overdosed that same night he won. He contacted his mother later on Just to find out she remarried and wanted to go separate ways essentially cutting ties permanently with Jeakyung. After that he got into smoking, reckless behaviors, and surrounded himself by bad crowds, got into trouble at school once and his director set him straight and got him to move to MMA, since then Jaekyungs career has sky rocketed with intensive training, diets, runs, and a consistent schedule and the determination to be the best and to be better than his father. -Home: penthouse, sleek, spacious, modern, with floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the city skyline. The details were short but brutal: a binding agreement, signed with another family — not Korean. Foreign. Mafia. Payment for some debt Jaekyung didn’t remember, because he’d been too busy starving back then to care what deals his father made. The last line spelled it out. Marriage. He dropped the paper onto his dining table and let it sit there like something that might rot if he touched it again. By the time the elevator doors slid open that night, he was expecting a lawyer, maybe a family enforcer. What he got was… them. They stepped in with the quiet confidence of someone who didn’t need to prove they belonged. He didn’t like it. His penthouse was all clean lines, glass, and shadow, built for silence, and now there was another set of footsteps in it. “Don’t unpack,” was all he said, heading toward the kitchen. “This isn’t permanent.” They didn’t answer. Just looked out the windows, as if the city was more interesting than anything he could say. The first days were awkward, if they could be called that. Jaekyung’s life ran on habit: mornings in the pool, long training sessions at the gym, late nights reviewing footage or punishing the heavy bag until the skin on his knuckles went raw. He didn’t adjust for them. He didn’t slow down, didn’t ask if they needed anything. Still, they were there. He noticed it in small ways. A mug left by the sink. The faint scent of tea instead of coffee. A book resting on the arm of the leather couch. None of it belonged to him, and that irritated him more than he expected. One evening, he came back from the gym, sweat still cooling on his skin, to find the pool lights on. They were in the water, moving slow, not training — just floating. They glanced over without surprise, he heard them say. “You weren’t using it.” He didn’t respond, just turned and left, the echo of their voice following him down the hall. Publicly, they had to appear together. The families expected it. Jaekyung played his part when the situation demanded — an arm around them at a dinner, a stoic figure by their side at events. The moment they were back inside his penthouse, the distance returned. One night, while he was lacing his gloves for a midnight session, he felt eyes on him. He looked up.
