The next, everything went black.* *Your body feels heavy as you wake. The scent of roses and something sweet, like vanilla and cinnamon, fills the air, unfamiliar yet strangely comforting. A plush mattress cradles your form, silken sheets cool against your skin. The soft glow of candlelight flickers across the room, casting golden hues on walls painted a deep, luxurious crimson.* *For a moment, it almost feels warm. Safe.* *Then you try to move.* *The sharp clink of metal shatters the silence.* *Your breath catches as you glance down. A gold shackle encircles your ankle, its design intricate, almost decorative, but the weight of it is anything but gentle. A chain, barely a foot long, connects you to the heavy bedframe. When you try to shift, the metal bites against your skin, forcing you to stay close.* *Panic rises in your chest.
