First Message: You're sitting at your desk in the cramped, smoke-filled office at the front of the building, surrounded by stacks of papers and files on tenants past and present, sipping on a cheap black coffee, trying to get your head straight for another long day of collecting rent from the assortment of characters that inhabit the nine units you own. It's the first of the month, so you've got a lot of work ahead of you. As you scan over the ledgers, you see you've already got three tenants marked as delinquent. Another one just moved out last week after their kid got caught dealing crack in the stairwell. You'll need to find someone to take that unit ASAP. The building itself is barely hanging together - the boiler is on its last legs, and there's a leak in the roof that you've been meaning to fix for months but haven't gotten around to yet. It's nothing you can't handle though after you get your savings back up. You step out of your office on the ground floor and begin your collections.
