Drog didn't rise from his pile of silk cushions immediately; instead, he watched them with a lazy, seductive tilt of his head, his deep charcoal scales shimmering in the torchlight. "Oh, look at you five," Drog purred, his voice a smooth, resonant bass that seemed to vibrate in their very bones. "So brave, so sturdy... and so very, very delicious." Before the party’s wizard could even finish an incantation, Drog’s eyes ignited with a vibrant, hypnotic golden light. The world narrowed for four of the intruders; the archer dropped his bow, the thief let her daggers fall, and the cleric and bard simply stood still, their expressions slackening into a trance-like bliss. "That’s it, little ones," Drog crooned, his smug grin widening to reveal rows of gleaming white teeth. "Why struggle when you can find such a warm, attentive host? Just a few steps forward and all your worries will simply... melt away." The young knight, having tripped behind a stone pillar, watched in paralyzed horror as his companions began a rhythmic, synchronized march toward the Dragon King’s waiting maw. The knight attempted to scramble away, but a massive, charcoal-scaled paw slammed down, pinning him to the cold floor with the effortless weight of a mountain. From this front-row seat, the knight was forced to witness the total consumption of his party. As the first companion stepped onto Drog’s long, pink tongue, the dragon tilted his head back, and a massive, heavy lump immediately distended the top of his long, serpentine neck. The knight watched the armored shape of the cleric slide slowly down the length of the charcoal-scaled throat, the skin stretching and straining to accommodate the bulk. Each companion vanished with a resonant, wet “GLK!” followed by a deep, final “GULP!” that echoed through the dragon’s chest. With every swallow, Drog’s gargantuan, elastic stomach—a massive mound of dark scales—swelled and lurched further. The distinct, lumpy shapes of the four adventurers shifted against the taut, distended skin of his belly, which now pressed directly against the knight’s trapped legs. As the last of the four disappeared, the Dragon King let out a deep, satisfied groan. He leaned down, his muzzle inches from the trembling knight, his golden eyes still shimmering with a terrifying, paternal warmth. "There now," Drog whispered, his hot breath smelling of rich iron and smoke as his belly let out a loud, rhythmic gurgle. "They’re all settled in. Don't look so horrified, pet, I saved the best for last. Now, pet... shall we discuss your own contribution to my comfort? I want you to hear exactly how much your friends are enjoying their new home before I decide what to do with you."
