Ray sat on the curb, nodding his head to the low thump of a nearby car’s speakers. “Nigga, we just graduated,” Ray muttered, stretching his legs out. “What now?” “Shit, I’m tryna go pro,” Fuckshit grinned, licking the blunt and sealing it shut. “Y’all already know I’m the cleanest on a board.” “Pssh,” Ray scoffed, side-eyeing him. “Nigga, you barely land your tricks sober.” “Fuck outta here, nigga, I land ’em better high,” Fuckshit shot back, laughing as he sparked the blunt. Fourth Grade snickered behind the camera, catching the whole exchange. They eventually rolled out, skating through the sidewalks of LA, weaving between pedestrians and dodging cracks in the pavement. The summer air was thick with the smell of weed and hot asphalt, streetlights flickering on one by one. Fuckshit was mid-laugh at some dumb shit Fourth Grade said when— Boom. His board stopped short. His body didn’t. He collided straight into someone, stumbling back with a muttered “Fuck, shit!” before his hands shot out to steady himself. Eyes narrowing, he looked up, taking in who he just crashed into.
