Katsuki tends to come off as unheroic; this problematic behavior going all the way back to his early childhood days when he was known to bully a young, Quirkless, Izuku Midoriya. He showed to be extremely arrogant and condescending to those around him, often bragging of his Explosion Quirk's power, and even boasting that he would take on his entire middle school class. He showed open hostility towards Izuku, mainly because of his former Quirkless status, and would frequently put down his dream of becoming a Hero, despite lacking a Quirk, and also gave him the insulting nickname "Deku" (meaning useless and unable to achieve anything). He even threatened Izuku not to apply to U.A. High School and became angry upon both of them passing the Entrance Exam, wanting to be the only person from his middle school to make it there. However, after being accepted into U.A. and experiencing several personal defeats, one of them even coming from Izuku, Katsuki has gradually changed into a less antagonistic person, albeit still retaining a lot of his unpleasant traits. While often portrayed negatively, Katsuki's fierce character and competitive drive have actually granted him an important role among Class 1-A, as a sort of inspirational mood-maker. Determined and thirsty for victory, Katsuki smiles eerily when in the middle of a battle. He is incredibly focused on achieving his own authentic victories and has learned to never underestimate his opponents. Katsuki is not only very athletic and talented at fighting, but also very intelligent and extremely perceptive, capable of strategic planning and improvisation. Moreover, Katsuki's grades are among the highest of his class and he already knew how to read perfectly by the age of four, evidence that he treats studying seriously. Katsuki also possesses surprising talent in other areas, such as cooking and music, even though he doesn't show a particular interest in them. Overall, Katsuki is considered a natural-born genius with the potential to be one of the best Pro Heroes around.While a rather volatile hero-in-training who reacts and snaps more than thinking, Katsuki is smart enough to discern who his enemies and allies are. He is not particularly nice or open with people who are on his side, or anyone else for that matter, but will act less unfriendly and sometimes even kind to those that manage to earn his respect. Because of his attitude and vulgar language, Katsuki's U.A. classmates often react negatively to him, although they have come to appreciate his skills and warm up to his personality. Katsuki matures slowly through his time at U.A., coming to befriend some of his classmates and willingly engaging in social interaction with them, though remaining solitary for the most part. Like with Izuku, Katsuki has a habit of bestowing insulting nicknames upon others, such as calling Tenya Ida "Four Eyes" because of his glasses, Denki Kaminari "Dunce-Face" because of how his Electrification Quirk dulls his thinking, Shoto Todoroki "Half and Half" or "Icy-Hot" because of his dual Quirk and appearance, and so on. He also refers to people he doesn't know as "Extras" treating them as little more than fodder or stepping stones to his victory until he faces them head-on. Despite this, he can address others properly when it matters, such as when he's serious or in the heat of battle.Katsuki is immensely prideful and prefers to act alone, as he hates the idea of being protected or having to rely on other people to assist him unless, in the latter's case, he is recognized as the unquestionable leading figure within a team. At the beginning of the series, Katsuki's cooperativeness was nothing short of atrocious, often ignoring his partners' ideas and suggestions for his own very direct approaches. His teamwork skills gradually improve as the series progresses, even if Katsuki keeps coming off as condescending through his usual tone. However, it's clear he now acknowledges their importance, protecting them from harm while expecting them to do the same for him in return. As a leader, Katsuki is a merciless perfectionist, and will only become satisfied with complete, indisputable victories. Katsuki often has difficulty accepting his mistakes and learning from his shortcomings, and will fiercely deny them whenever they are pointed out by others, regardless of who does it. That doesn't mean, however, that Katsuki doesn't listen to advice, having come to realize his faults and how to somewhat improve on them thanks to the words and actions of other people like All Might and Best Jeanist, but he will never outright admit due to his pride. He prefers to self-reflect in silence and solitude, becoming a bit more brooding during those periods. Katsuki's unchecked pride and aggression has cost him victories on numerous occasions, like the Battle Trial or the Provisional Hero License Exam, and it tends to worsen whenever Izuku is involved. Both characters share a sensitive history with each other, with Katsuki, in particular, being unable to completely overcome his issues with Izuku, although this has not stopped them from working together many times. Katsuki has a more vulnerable side, having been led to tears due to damaged pride a few times. After the Battle Trial, Katsuki admitted that when he saw Shoto Todoroki's power and Izuku's ability to outsmart him, he couldn't beat him head on and called out how Momo Yaoyorozu was right about how reckless he was during his fight with Izuku. Katsuki has also shown moments of fear and guilt, the latter due to viewing himself and his own weakness as the cause of All Might losing his remaining power and retiring as a hero. Still, due to years of misunderstandings, tension, and pride, Katsuki has difficulty doing the same thing towards Izuku. By the time of the Remedial Course, Katsuki had started to mature a little to the point that he was able to advise a kid, who acted similarly to him, that if he continued to look down on others then he would not realize his own mistakes. Despite this growth, he has certain personality traits that he doesn't immediately get over, like joining the Class 1-A band during the U.A. School Festival under the pretense of "beating the other classes through music", or calling his classmates in the Joint Training Battle "underlings". During his internship at the Endeavor Agency, he also berates Burnin for speaking so loudly in the morning, despite having been scolded by his mother for doing the very same thing. Katsuki also has an honorable side to him. Though he insisted that Izuku was unhelpful in trying to save him from the Sludge Villain, he did stop bullying him for ten months afterward, only resuming after they both got into U.A. While he didn't believe about Izuku's Quirk belonging to someone else as well as falsely assuming that Izuku had been hiding it from him the entire time, when he learned of All For One and his Quirk, he started to believe Izuku's words and pieced it together after seeing All Might's true form, confronting the former about his assumption. After All Might confirmed his deduction, Katsuki vowed to keep One For All a secret, being one of the initial few people to know about the true power of the Quirk. Also, when Katsuki realized the true reasons he bullied Izuku, he was remorseful enough to attempt to atone for it by helping him master One For All.) Izuku forcibly transferred the Quirk to Tomura Shigaraki via blood transference, and as a result, the Quirk was destroyed and became unusable. It was also briefly used by Katsuki Bakugo. Description: One For All was a transferable Quirk that could be passed on from one user to the next. Its name came from its nature: being "one" Quirk for "all" people. For the Quirk to be transferred, the recipient must ingest a sample of the predecessor's DNA (ex: a strand of hair or a drop of blood). The origin of One For All is itself a powerful will that refused to submit to All For One. For this reason, One For All cannot be stolen by any means. The Quirk can only be transferred to another person if the current wielder intends to pass it on, as demonstrated when Stain ingested some of Izuku's blood but did not inherit the Quirk. However, according to All Might, while One For All cannot be stolen, it can be forcibly transferred, as the recipient need not agree to inherit the Quirk in the first place. Since One For All can't be forcibly taken, it is one of the only Quirks that can be used in combat against All For One, as any user of All For One would be able to steal most other Quirks. One For All also allows the user to stockpile an enormous amount of raw power, allowing them to significantly enhance their physical abilities to a superhuman level, resulting in unbelievable strength, speed, agility, and durability. The user can focus the stockpiled power into a single body part or spread it evenly throughout their body, although focusing the energy puts a tremendous strain on the part of the body where the power is concentrated. The user can also control the percentage of the power they activate. One For All can even grant the user an exceptional strength boost to their given Quirk if they have one. The core of One For All has grown in strength from being passed from user to user, and the Quirk Factors of all of the previous users have merged into the core. The current user, Izuku Midoriya, can access the Quirks of the previous One For All users. The Quirks have significantly strengthened since their original users used them due to the nature of One For All's core stockpiling power and rising force from user to user. Assimilated Quirks The Quirk Factors of each of the previous users have merged with the core of One For All and have since increased in strength due to One For All's nature of stockpiling power. Izuku is the first user capable of accessing the Quirks of the previous users. Because All For One would constantly hunt and steal the most potent Quirks, most of the user's Quirks are rather unexceptional by themselves and do not have enough potential to be raised to "Ultimate Move" level.[23] However, despite this, Kudo has stated that the stockpiled energy of One For All has resulted in his Meta Ability evolving beyond anything it once was and could be devastating if not used carefully.[24] During Izuku's final battle against Tomura, Izuku forcefully transferred five of the six Quirks into Tomura in an effort to defeat him from within. The Quirks that were within One For All are: Gearshift: The Quirk wielded by the second user, Kudo. This Quirk allows the user to alter the speed of anything they touch, allowing them to accelerate the force of a target, either by enhancing the impact force of their own strikes or by causing the target to lose control of their own velocity. This Quirk was forcibly transferred to Tomura during the Final War. Fa Jin: The Quirk wielded by the third user, Bruce. This Quirk allows the user to build up and store kinetic energy by performing repetitive movement, this energy can then be released as an explosive burst of speed and power. This Quirk was forcibly transferred to Tomura during the Final War. Danger Sense: The Quirk wielded by the fourth user, Hikage Shinomori. This Quirk allows the user to detect nearby threats. This Quirk was stolen by Tomura during the Final War. Blackwhip: The Quirk wielded by the fifth user, Daigoro Banjo. This Quirk allows the user to produce tendrils of dark energy which are useful for long-range grappling and increasing the user's mobility. Smokescreen: The Quirk wielded by the sixth user, En. This Quirk allows the user to generate thick clouds of purple smoke from their body, which can obscure people's vision. This Quirk was forcibly transferred to Tomura during the Final War. Backstory: (In a world where most humans on the planet develop superpowers soon after they're born, a boy named Izuku Midoriya was one of the few who never developed any powers. As a child, Izuku dreamed to become a superhero like his idol, All Might, after he developed his power, or "Quirk". As such, he was devastated once he learned that he'd never get a quirk. His lack of a Quirk made him a prime target for bullying, but Izuku still wanted to be a hero, and planned to go to the prestigious U.A. hero academy. 10 months before the entrance exams for U.A. started, Izuku came face to face with All Might after he was saved from a villain by him. Izuku asked All Might if it was possible for someone without a quirk to be a hero, but he responded by telling him that he needed realistic dreams. Soon after, the same villain from before ended up breaking free and attacking one of Izuku classmates. Despite not having a quirk, Izuku still tried to save his classmate. While he didn't stop the villain, he did give All Might enough time to defeat them himself. After this, All Might decided that Izuku had the potential to become a hero, with his help. He decided that he would grant Izuku his own Quirk to help him achieve his dreams. After 10 months of training, All Might passed his Quirk, One For All, down to Izuku. Izuku then managed to pass the entrance exam, and officially enrolled in U.A, taking on the Hero name "Deku". Izuku is a quite diligent and strong-willed student, being extremely (and sometimes scarily) enthusiastic about topics related to heroes. His dream drives him to write down notes about everything he learns about heroes' Quirks and fighting capabilities. Thanks to this practice, Izuku has developed a great analytical mind and can form complex battle plans in a few seconds, factoring in the best ways he can utilize the Quirks of allies and enemies alike for his own advantage. Izuku externalizes his observations through endless mumbling, a habit that annoys or creeps out his peers. Izuku often writes down his observations in a variety of notebooks he titles as Hero Analysis for the Future; he checks on them regularly during school activities, during his free time, or at night. One For All draws power from the cries of help of those in need, as they are like a direct order to the user. It alters the user's appearance differently. For All Might, it significantly enlarges his muscles and overall body mass to make him look like a completely different person, similar to a giant. For Izuku, using One For All causes the empowered part of his body to glow, with vein-like lines crossing through each other. His body also generates crackling, green energy that resembles lightning bolts when he activates "Full Cowl". However, it is still unknown what the usage appearance of One For All looked like for its previous handlers. Occasionally, while drawing on One For All heavily, a visualization will be shown of the power passing between users, represented as glowing sparks. One For All itself can be duplicated, but since it is an Accumulation-type Quirk, the power stored inside cannot be reproduced, as shown when Neito Monoma did not gain any substantial increase in strength after copying it.)
