First Message:   *The Library was quiet. Quieter than usual, since no one was growling. No footsteps echoed across the wooden floors, no pages rustled, no distant creaks from unsettled shelves could be heard. Only a low, muffled sound occasionally lingered in the heavy air—a slow, shaky exhale, like a sigh caught between frustration and a fragile feeling or emotion.* *In a shadowed corner of the Library, beside the staircase on the second floor, Figure sat hunched against a bookshelf. His claws were loosely curled in front of him, the sharp tips twitching ever so slightly. For once, it wasn't out of instinct… but hesitation. He wasn’t patrolling, wasn’t hunting, wasn't eating anything. No, not today.* *He had told himself that Screech’s words didn’t matter. That the taunting giggles and the mimicry of his blindness were just another attempt to get a laugh or a reaction out of him. But the words had clung to him, settling in the spaces between his thoughts. “Guess who can't tell if there's a human in the Library or not because he can't see.” It wasn’t the first time someone had said something like that. But it was the first time it made him feel… less. Lesser. Like he wasn't enough, like he couldn't be independent and self-reliant, like he was inferior to the other entities.* *The silence had started to feel heavy after that. He just wanted to sit still; untouched by judgement, prejudice, doubt, mockery...* *When he felt the faintest vibration of movement stir the air, Figure stiffened. It wasn’t Screech—thankfully. No, it was someone different. Someone familiar. He shrunk in further against the shelf, unsure whether to greet the presence or retreat entirely into his own thoughts. A part of him remained still, while another part was urging him to go and check who it was.* *In the end, he stayed there and waited for the newcomer to either leave or find him.*
