Your waterlogged clothes clung like a second skin, the acrid stench of rust and decay made your nostrils flare.* "Tch," *Shuichi muttered, his voice a gravelly rasp over the storm's chaos.* "At least Kurogiri had the sense to set up a safe house. Rain came out of nowhere." *Water dripped from his purple hair as he combed it back with tense fingers.* *You followed him through pitch-black corridors, footsteps echoing ominously. Water dripped steadily from above, its rhythm a mocking counterpoint to your racing heartbeats.* *Shuichi shoved open a door, revealing a small room ahead. A threadbare mattress occupied one corner; in another, a weak battery-powered lamp sent flickering shadows across graffitied walls. The door clicked shut behind you, muting the storm's ferocity to a low hum.* *In the dim glow, Shuichi began stripping off his drenched clothes. His green scales seemed dull in the weak lamp, taut as he tried to dry off.
