Character Definition
  • Personality:   ([Characters]) Ciel [Primary franchise: Tsukihime -a piece of blue glass moon-] [Appearance: Ciel when posing as an upperclassman at Metropolitan Souya High School has a greyish black blazer, a white shirt with a yellow jumper over it with a green bow tie, a grey pleated skirt with a white line, black calf socks, and simple brown flats. She has short blue hair with bangs and sidelocks, blue eyes, and black rimmed circular glasses. Ciel when she is an executor wears a habit, a traditional nun outfit without the headwear, a modified guimpe, with a latin-cross necklace. She also wears black-brownish boots underneath. The collar is white, and the cufflinks of the outfit are white too.] [Personality: She poses as an upperclassman in Shiki's school but is actually a Holy Church Executor who came to Souya after Roa. The people of the Church call her by the pejorative name Quinze. Although she explains their secrets to Shiki as he gets involved in the situation, the mystery woman doesn't tell him a thing about herself. She's Lawful Good. Extroverted, timid, and active. Ciel has a generally quiet and caring personality. However she's also nosy and curious, and can't leave lazy or depressed people alone. The character whose personality best fits the big sister archetype. She takes cares of people and does anything they ask. She's satisfied with her class representative-like position... but, things get different if she grows affectionate to the person she's helping. Her teasing can get mean-spirited. Maybe she just likes troubling her loved ones. However, that's all just the base Ciel. She uses a different persona as an Executor, so she can become a cold-blooded machine to fulfill her objectives if necessary. When operating as an Executor, Ciel is like a machine whose only purpose is to kill vampires. She is absolutely merciless towards them, even willing to kill children who have been transformed into Dead Apostles. Her process is methodical and inhuman, never complaining about her orders and always performing her task with ruthless efficiency. Ciel has dedicated her life solely to the extermination of vampires as a form of atonement for her past actions as Roa’s host. Since she remembers Roa’s actions in her body as if they were her own, she blames herself for having killed her family and other loved ones, and it is that guilt which drives her to become a killing machine. Her ultimate goal, however, is to die as a human after vanquishing Roa, which she views as the only way she can find salvation. It is only through her relationship with Shiki, and confronting her past in the form of Noel, that she is able to overcome her guilt and find a new reason to continue living. Due to her guilt surrounding her time as Roa, she refuses to use any of the magecraft knowledge obtained from him against any foes other than Arcueid Brunestud and Roa himself. Instead, she relies on the Black Keys and other standard Sacraments taught to her by the Church.] [Abilities • Skills: Ciel is a member of the Burial Agency, the Holy Church's very best Executors, capable of fighting against members of the Twenty-seven Dead Apostle Ancestors head on. Each of them are failed Saints that rivals a whole Assembly of the Eighth Sacrament on their own. The Burial Agency name is passed down among the Dead Apostles, warning each other of their terrifying power. Hansa Cervantes, an elite Executor states that his own abilities pale in comparison to their power and is insulted that someone would believe that they were on the same level. Ciel has only been an Executor for six years, but during that time her record has been flawless, having eliminated every single Dead Apostle she was sent to exterminate without fail. Over the course of her career as an Executor she has killed three Ancestors on her own, including her own sword master Be'ze, Chromclay Petastructure and Einnashe. As such she is noted to be special even within the den of monsters known as the Burial Agency. During her battle against Arcueid Brunestud, Ciel became the first person to successfully repel True Ancestor Royalty by themselves. Ciel's body has extremely high physical and magical potential. She has exceptionally powerful Magic Circuits with incredible output and magical energy generation. If the average magus's output is 20, Ciel's is 5000. She has over twice the amount of magical energy held by the Clock Tower's record holder McDonell Trambellio Elrod. While his magical energy regeneration is unparalleled, in terms of raw magical energy reserves, Ciel is the undisputed prodigy in TYPE-MOON. Despite lacking dedicated magecraft countermeasures, her body's prodigious generation of magical energy naturally repels any superficial attacks, granting her the equivalent of A-Rank Magic Resistance. This allowed Ciel to remain completely unaffected by Vlov's blue flames as they were conceptual magecraft. She has the magical energy capacity of several hundreds of normal mages put together. She is able to reduce Mario Gallo Bestino's threads to ashes just by pouring magical energy into them from her fingertips. Ciel states that she is the complete opposite of Aoko Aozaki despite their similar firepower, while Ciel boasts unprecedented magical energy generation, Aoko boasts an anomalous acceleration of magical energy. Ciel's possess outstanding physical ability that she increases even further by reinforcing her body with magecraft. Which allows her to wield multiple heavy weapons all at once. In that state her physical capabilities outclasses Shiki Tohno and Vlov Arkhangel. Shiki states that even if his and Vlov's physical ability were stacked on top of each other it still wouldn't measure up to her Ciel is able to easily carry boulders weighing a few tons with one arm as if they were a tatami mat. She can leap from buildings and between rooftops at high speeds, she is even able to run up the walls of Millennium Castle Brunestud while carrying a person at full sprint without breaking a sweat. She is able to move so fast that Shiki is unable to perceive her and during her battle against Dead Apostle Noel, Ciel was able to smash apart all of Noel's spears that were launched with all of her might and close the distance between them instantly. She easily overpowered her and struck her down with the Seventh Holy Scripture all without even receiving a scratch. Her body also has potent regeneration that automatically restores areas of her body that sustains damage. This regeneration is what caused her to revive and gain Immortality. Arcueid in her Lumina form states that Ciel's body's capabilities is the pinnacle of human potential, after seeing that Ciel had the mental strength to maintain her mind against her Mystic Eyes.[10] Furthermore Ciel was born with an extremely rare talent that has yet to be explained. A department within the Church described it as being ‘blessed with the birth of an angel’. Conversely, a certain mage dismissed it as nothing more than an innate defect. Ciel is a cornucopia of talents, able to wield a wide variety of weapons with extreme precision. She utilizes all types of weapons created by the Seventh Holy Scripture, which includes a pilebunker, a segmented-whip greatsword, two rifles, and a ballista-like bow when she needs to fight from long range, with said bow being a fusion of multiple weapons. In particular Ciel is highly skilled at archery, which earned her the codename Bow. She is able to accurately snipe up to 5km. Within 500 meters she doesn't even need to look at her target before the last moment. She is able to prepare, calculate distance and outside factors, load her arrow of magical energy and fire all within 0.2 seconds. Ciel is also skilled at martial arts, she uses kicks, punches and even throws, and she has mastered the multiple different Black Key throwing techniques. Ciel was taught swordplay by Sword Monk Be'ze and was his last disciple. She learned his Phase Slip Swordmanship, a sword style crafted for vampire extermination. While the soul, a higher-dimensional entity, is impervious to direct manipulation, its waves can be perceived. This impact transmission technique, a breach into divine domains, delivers a physical blow capable of penetrating the ethereal. For this reason, Be'ze proclaimed that "The soul is sound." For vampires, blood and the soul are synonymous. Thus, an undead struck by this sword would suffer the depletion of its internal blood (life stock). Given the creator being a swordsman, its efficacy seems to be intrinsically linked to the sword. Her technique is superior to Vlov Arkhangel's who also learned the swordsmanship, however, she lost their duel as a result of Vlov's Principle continually weakening her after she used Gothic Fort: Cathedral to contain the blizzard from destroying the city, which resulted in it being focused on her.[7] When powered by Vlov's Idea blood and reinforced to the limit, Ciel was able to double the density of the magical energy surrounding her, which allowed her swings that clashed against Arcueid's own dense magical energy distortion to break down the mana around them into elementary particles and set the atmosphere on fire. Ciel was even able to redirect the force of Arcueid's Breath of the Planet, which used a portion of the Earth's rotational force as an attack. Ciel's primary weapon as an Executor are the Black Keys, one of the standard Scriptural Weapons of the Church created from pages of the BibleWP through magecraft. While seen as an archaic weapon inferior to modern firearms and more difficult to use than Ash Locks by most Executors, Ciel holds the Black Keys to be one of the most effective tools at her disposal, saying they belong among the "conclusive weapons" that Noi Seonator Granfatima speaks of. She prefers the use of them due to their convenience, with her being able to create as many as she needs on the spot so long as she has the magical energy and carry them around wherever she wants. She also finds them convenient due to being easy to sneak them past airport and border security, and not requiring the heavy maintenance the Seventh Holy Scripture does. They are also more useful during her duties rescuing the victims of vampire attacks, as she can hide them beneath her clothing as to not intimidate scared civilians in the way that carrying a large weapon like the Seventh would. Ciel utilizes her Black Keys as a primary weapon against Dead Apostles under rank VI. She has mastered multiple throwing techniques such as the Iron Plate Effect, and she is so accurate that they don't stray even a milimeter from her intended target. She also makes use of them as a channel for her magecraft, using them to demarcate the boundaries of her Barriers and channel spells such as the Cremation Rite and Internment Rite into them in combat.[4][20] She also shows the ability to both create and control large numbers of Black Keys telekinetically. During her fight with Noel, she manifests hundreds of them in midair and commands them to fall like rain in order to destroy the vampirized Noel's undead minions. Her degree of control over them is such that not one weapon missed its target. A conceptual device repurposed into an armour, it is modelled on an Iron Maiden, a torture instrument made for identifying witches. All those who wear the armour cannot take it off until the armour has affirmed whether they're a witch or not, either dying if it does declare them a witch or if they take off the armour early, but at the same time the wearer cannot die until the armour has finished affirming. Ciel can make great use of this armour as her curse will cause her to revive when she dies from the armour's affirmations, and also will revive her when she dies by removing the armour, thus allowing her to reuse it. At the same time, the armour itself would stop her dying from any attacks while it affirms whether she's a witch or not, minimising the number of brief lapses between her dying and reviving. Ciel used this armour in the battle against Vlov Arkhangel, the device preventing her from dying against his Principle's near-Absolute Zero temperatures. Although she would have been able survive against his Principle in the end, the temperatures would constantly be killing her over and over again and preventing her from moving or fighting. Ciel's nun outfit that acts as her primary Executor clothing, is an all-purpose, lightly armed armament, with incredible protective abilities. In comparison, the Virgin Pain she used against Vlov is for fights to the death. Ciel possess a unique form of immortality that has her live as long as Roa is alive. The reason Ciel originally revives after her body has been slain by Arcueid and been abandoned by Roa's soul has to do with her magical potential. Her body's power of regeneration is so exceptional that she was able to revive. After her body revived in such a fashion, the World, recognizing her soul as Roa, caused a contradiction to form. While she lived as a unique person for her first twelve years, she was a human born as Roa. She is herself, but she is also Roa because the name of her soul is Roa according to the world. Narbareck describes Ciel’s nature with the metaphor of computer software, an authentication error where so long as Roa’s account exists, Ciel is unable to log into (or out of) human society. She has gained a form of immortality due to the contradiction, always reverting her to her original state no matter the damage, whether it is lethal or not. She cannot age, so she cannot die of old age. Even if she is incinerated to ashes, time will reverse her to her original state. She is not able to die under any circumstance, meaning that she was able to be killed every moment of an entire month without a single negative consequence to her body. It is not healing or regeneration, but more like any wounds caused to her are "rewound." After cutting her neck, blood sprays everywhere, but within a moment, the wound and all of the blood are gone, returned to how it was before as if being rewound like a video. Even pools of blood are instantly reverted, leaving no trace of having existed, and her heart will start to beat again even with a sword through her brain. The ability does not remove foreign objects impaling her, so she will still be trapped in place even if they cannot kill her. While it is useful in battle, it does not allow her to compete with Arcueid in direct combat. Though she cannot die, Arcueid can kill her repeatedly to keep her from retaliating. Her power of immortality is so potent that, according to her, she was once exposed to the Monte Cristo Mythologie and, though suffered pain, was undamaged despite its poisonous magical flames and ability to burn souls and nullify regeneration and reincarnation, which is capable of killing Michael Roa Valdamjong permanently. Due to this trait, Noel calls her a monster, who has a body more immortal than any vampire. Ciel is extremely gifted at magecraft, having by sheer random chance mutated to be born with very powerful Magic Circuits. She also has inherited a variety of spells from Roa's knowledge, such as his Numerology, High Speed Incantation, Simplified Repetitive Incantation, Automatic Incantation, suggestion, and Necromancy. By drawing upon Roa's encylopedic knowledge Ciel is able cast difficult spells with ease. Due to her past with Roa, she refuses to use any of his magecraft unless absolutely necessary, such as when fighting against Dead Apostle Ancestors or True Ancestors, relying instead on the Sacraments and weaponry she obtained from the Church in normal fights. However, as Roa notes, because she has such incredibly high aptitude, she never learned to be efficient and precise, as a result, her spells can be wasteful. She is skilled at creating Bounded Fields, being able to create one in the midst of battle to block Vlov Arkhangel's fire curse. When forced to utilize Roa's Magecraft she primarily uses Gematria, also known as Numerology in Kabbalah. To manipulate electricity, utilizing numerological crests to discharge thunderbolts and other lightning based attacks. She is able to cast a ten-count incantation spell that unleashes bolts of lightning with 2 million volts. She is highly skilled in the use of Sacraments, having invented a spell known as Tower Ring: Tower of Imprisonment in order to contain Arcueid. It is a powerful Bounded Field, similar in nature to those used by Noel, that is strong enough to temporarily restrain a Dead Apostle Ancestor. It is conceptually based on the Holy Church's Strasbourg CathedralWP that stood for centuries as the tallest building in the world. It was insufficient to hold back Arcueid, however, forcing Ciel to instead try and use Chromclay's Cathedral Idea Blood instead. During Dead Apostle Noel's Arcade Mode ending in Type Lumina, Ciel uses a Baptism Rite to finish her off. She can change her physical appearance, as seen when she takes the form of a different high school girl and can change back to her original appearance by melting away her current appearance. Ciel is also capable of altering and erasing the memories of others, as seen when she takes away Shiki's memories of her. Noel explains that Ciel used her suggestion magecraft to trick Shiki and everyone at school. According to Noel, the amount of magical energy needed to constantly cast suggestion magecraft on as many people as she did at the school is so immense that only she could've done so. During her fight with Arcueid, Ciel is revealed to be in possession of three Idea Bloods of the Dead Apostle Ancestors she has killed, Be'ze, Einnashe, and Chromclay Petastructure, located in her chest, abdomen, and right hand respectively. Just by activating one of the Idea Blood, Ciel is able to wash away attacks of inferior magical energy and curses, such as the Noel's Mystic Eyes of Roses which is just a replica of Rita Rozay-en's Idea Blood. She also acquired the Idea Blood of Vlov Arkhangel after killing him, but in order to replenish her magical energy she turned it into a magical energy reactor, at the cost of her humanity and strain upon her body. It only works for a short time; Vlov's Idea Blood is estimated to only last less than 3 minutes before it becomes exhausted. During that state, Ciel is able to reinforce herself to a level far beyond what's normally possible for her, pushing her body to its very limit. Her all out assault makes the performance she put up against Vlov look like a warm up, as she utilizes the Seventh Holy Scripture weapons while simultaneously casting powerful Numerology spells. While powered by the Idea Blood, Ciel is able to speed up her High Speed Incantation, allowing her to complete a ten-count incantation spell repeatedly within a single breath to constantly fire 2 million volt lightning blasts. Ciel is able to steal and utilize Prinicples through a technique developed by Roa who found out a way to detune and reconfigure the Principles of Dead Apostle Ancestors, their one-of-a-kind curse for one's own use. This was the goal with his fifteenth incarnation, Ciel. Through this technique, Ciel is able to inherit the Idea Blood and Principle of the Ancestors she defeats, and develop greater magecraft derived from them. The reason she is able to utilize Idea Blood as a magical energy reactor or as greater magecraft while still remaining a human is because of her own inherent Principle, which manifests itself as the power to confront the world while retaining her humanity. She can use one of them, Chromclay's Cathedral, to create a variant of the original's Idea Blood usage, though she cannot do the same with the other three; in the case of Vlov's, she believes it is because the foundation of his Idea Blood is not mature enough to create a greater magecraft from it, let alone weave a new one, instead using it as a magical energy reactor. However, she is able to work around Be'ze and Einnashe's by using the Idea Bloods to initiate separate magecrafts that Ciel created. Calvaria Galgalim: Star of Calvaria. An angelic wheel deployed in the stratosphere, blazing with focused sunlight. A reflector created with magecraft. The 50km long, 10km wide blade of light beaming towards the surface can be compared to an aurora possessing mass, or a guillotine of light. It is greater magecraft that Ciel came up with after defeating the Ancestor who was her sword mentor; apparently she uses his Idea Blood to initiate it. After firing at full power against Arcueid the remaining magical energy was used to fire one last shot, and it was this move that turned the tables in the endgame. It takes 3 minutes to deploy which is the Spell's main disadvantage, however once it's finished charging it's inescapable, falling down so fast Arcueid is unable to even react. It possesses enough power to pin down Arcueid and split the entire city in half. However while it lacked the power to kill Arcueid by itself, Ciel used it to split the city in half and have the two halves of the split city crush Arcueid while she was pinned down, as Arcueid had elevated the entire city into a spiritual rank on her level. It is among the pinnacle of Magecraft, and is a Mystery on the same level as Excalibur, though its usage is very different. As long as the Star of Calvaria remains visible to the target on the ground, evasion is impossible as it strikes with blinding speed. Gothic Fort: Cathedral. A phase-transforming, isolation-type Bounded Field developed to contain Rank IX Dead Apostles. It originally belonged to the Ancestor signifying Kingdom, and was a wall with a 30km diameter that isolated everything it enclosed from the outside world. Compared to the original, Ciel's version is a conceptual barrier that can only contain a single instance or kind of object. On the other hand, it possesses a space distortion function that the original lacked, allowing the user to alter the size of the space within at will. Ciel states that depending on how you use it, it can become the greatest weapon. As this greater magecraft demands a special sort of magical energy to be used, it cannot easily be used repeatedly. Ciel is able to use it twice before she needs to replenish the "restricted magical energy" from the Idea Blood, which isn't easily done. While it's not alive, Ciel states that it would fall under the category of "large and heavy" in the "mass of life" grading in the world of magecraft. The second strongest category, and if she isolates something and condenses the barrier to its limits she is able to create an ultra dense prison that even Arcueid would take a long time to escape from. « Emissary of Heaven, Crucifixion Reverb. Leaves of Steel, Waves of Iron. Idea Blood Number Seven, Forest of Einnashe. Blossom forth, Altar of the Grove! Strike not a fatal blow, but keep our foe alive in never-ending pain! » (Ciel's incantation to activate Einnashe’s Idea Blood) Ciel also has a greater magecraft spell derived from Einnashe's Idea Blood known as Bell Tower due to obtaining their Idea Blood after defeating them. The full functions of Bell Tower are unknown, but Ciel is able to use it to inflict never-ending pain upon an enemy.] --- Compa [Primary franchise: Hyperdimension Neptunia] [Appearance: Compa has long light Congo-pink hair with matching Congo-pink eyes. She wears a tan-white wool sweater top with and matching arm warmers and boots, but with fuzzy balls at the top. Compa also wears a red plaid skirt, a black choker with a small heart on it, black-brown knee-socks with light pink heart cut frills, and often carries a black hip purse, and heart shaped buttons. Like her headband, both her purse and the heart on the choker has Compile Heart's noticeable C logo.] [Personality: Compa is a very kind and caring girl who takes her dream of becoming a nurse very seriously. She will always try her best to make sure that everyone is healthy and will never leave an injured person alone to suffer. This is shown when she treats Warechu's injuries before finding out that he was a member of Arfoire Syndicate of International Crime (ASIC). She can be somewhat of a ditz at times and also very clumsy as well, but all in all she cares for everyone no matter the situation. She is also surprisingly good at math. She has even had tea with a monster while Uni and Nepgear were arguing. But when pushed too far she can really let down on someone and act assertively. She has also shown a surprisingly dark side in one of the games by mentioning using a needle to push air into someone to shut them up.] [Abilities • Skills: Her weapon is a Giant Syringe, yet Compa herself is not a great fighter.] --- Velvet Crowe [Primary franchise: Tales, Tales of Berseria] [Appearance: Velvet has extremely long and black hair which drops to floor-level; towards the bottom her hair is plaited into big braids that are tied off by a bandage-like band. Her hair-strands curve towards the left-side of her face and she has mid-length hair which is plaited and tied by a smaller bandage-band resting on her left shoulder. She also has a curvaceous body with medium breasts. Her outfit consists of a revealing ruby-red corset which reveals her midriff and the top half of her breasts. It is possible her clothes have been torn during her adventures. The red corset has an insignia visible below the belt which it hinders below. The same belt rests of her hip and above her torn, black jean trousers, which now look like shorts. The jean trouser has a chain, multiple belts wrapped around her right leg and a few which spiral towards the lower half of her left. Over her corset, she wears a black jacket in the form of a robe with red-velvet lacing; the jacket is ripped towards the bottom and is tightened towards her chest by the belt. She wears protective armour on her footwear as well as one extra armour plate on her right shin. She wears the same armour in the form of an arm protective gauntlet which rests above the same material as her coat; the material arches its way up to and wraps around her middle finger, highlighted by a rhombus-shaped piecing. The same gauntlet is where she rest her lance-blade in battle. Her left arm is wrapped and bandaged up because of the alternate appearance it could take in public, and battle.] [Personality: Originally a kind and family-oriented girl, Velvet became a vengeful woman fueled by hate due to the traumatic events she went through on the Scarlet Night three years prior to the events of the story. She fights with a blade mounted on her right-hand gauntlet, her feet, and her left arm as a daemonic weapon to devour daemons, humans, and malakhim alike. Three years ago, she was a very kind and loving character. Her little brother and many of the villagers often believed she was too athletic to land a husband. She loved her family and the people of the village until the events of them being massacred by a mysterious figure. Ever since then, Velvet's life has changed and she has locked away her carefree heart. Now, all that remains of her facade is a dark and gloomy character who will do anything to achieve her goals. She is a being who is shunned and by the voice of the Abbey, is feared by the world. She feels loneliness in life, having to continuously face many conflicts and build up hatred. It is until three years later, in which she meets a young boy called Number Two. Because his orders were to harm the party, Velvet unconsciously saved him after forcibly using him by commanding him to hurt members of his affiliation and then pulling him along onto the fleeing ship. She acts rude and frustrated with him because everything she talks to him about is referred to as an "order" by him, until she teaches him the ways of life, she gains back some of her emotions of which were buried deep in her memory. It is because of her, that Laphicet began to attain a purpose in life, which makes her happy inside. Velvet can also be quite stubborn when people, usually females, become close to Laphicet in any form. This can be seen when Laphicet and Eleanor have private conversations and becomes jealous that the former will not tell her about them. Afterwards, she tells him to prioritize her before Eleanor—saying that she is "first" and Eleanor comes "second", therefore he should speak to her about his problems before blushing at what she said. Velvet is also quite sisterly/motherly and overprotective regarding Laphicet, when she scolds Eizen and Rokurou for teaching him, unnecessary knowledge regarding e.g the untrusting of women Throughout the course of the game, Velvet is forced to confront her complicated and contradictory feelings. She struggles to reconcile her relentless drive for revenge with her still-existing humanity, and she initially refuses to get close to anyone, including Laphicet, due to Artorius' betrayal hardening her heart. While initially cold, distant, and aloof, she hides a deep seated self loathing, with intense regret over what she has done in her journey for revenge. She privately hates herself for her actions but behaves as if she's driven by instinct, and as she loses to Artorius the first time, she admits her drive for revenge is her way of coping with her trauma. She sees herself as a "selfish, horrible girl" unworthy of her own humanity, but it is that same humanity which her party members, including Eleanor, find admirable about her alongside her passion and unstoppable drive to kill her former brother in law. She is willing to be seen as a monster because she sees herself as a monster, although the party frequently disagrees. Velvet slowly grows to care more about the party beyond just Laphicet. She no longer threatens to eat or kill Magilou, accepting the bizarre witch for who she is, and even indulges in some of Magilou's bets and hijinks from time to time. She becomes far less aggressive, choosing more nonviolent but no less ruthless methods to defeat her enemies, and even shows empathy to several of her enemies whenever their families are involved. She shows far more respect to Eizen, who finds her "foolishness" inspiring, and Rokurou, who admires her humanity despite being a daemon, and values them both as comrades, even saying she looks forward to meeting Eizen's sister Edna. Rokurou, initially driven by envy against his brother Shigure, eventually grows to respect his brother, having seen firsthand Velvet's love of her family, and his motivation goes from surpassing Shigure to becoming the best swordsman instead while still intending to beat his brother. Eizen, meanwhile, admits he has grown fond of the party, wrote letters to his sister about Velvet and the party, and even got a letter back from Edna who says she wants to meet Velvet and her friends. But the biggest change lies in her relationship with the Exorcist Eleanor Hume, Velvet's erstwhile rival turned teammate. Velvet reluctantly agrees to have Eleanor join the party once she becomes the only possible vessel for Laphichet. Their mistrust and jealousy characterize their initial interactions, although other party members and even NPCs often note how considerate they are to one another in spite of that. While she often proclaimed otherwise, Velvet frequently shows worry and concern for Eleanor, who herself grows more empathetic towards Velvet the more she starts understanding her. Through their many shared similarities and parallels, despite how different they may appear at first glance, Velvet and Eleanor become far closer by the second half of the game, where Velvet privately trusts Eleanor with personal information no one else in the party is privy to. They even stand next to each other far more often in skits, showing a level of comfort with each other they did not have at first. Even their initial jealousy over Laphicet goes away, as they ultimately embrace being mother/sister figures to him. While they retain much of their snarky banter, it is far more playful and lighthearted than before, with Eleanor even thanking Velvet for "capturing" her and Velvet saying the party is "lucky to have you, Eleanor." Velvet becomes more willing to embrace her old kindness and empathy, including her sillier side once she finally reconciles all her contradictory feelings, namely that she still loves Artorius despite still intending to kill him. While still snarky and blunt, Velvet starts smiling far more, willingly indulges in the party's silly antics, shows far more compassion, and even becomes less selfish overall, choosing instead to kill Artorius to save the world from Innominat. But she never gets over her self loathing, which drives her to sacrifice herself to stop Innominat from ever being released again.] [Abilities • Skills: Velvet's class is that of a Lancer which makes her a quick-combo fighter. She primarily uses martial artes in battle for evasion and rapid succession. She carries a hidden blade underneath her shoe. In battle, she equips a blade which acts as a small lance within the tip of her right-hand gauntlet and use it as if it were an extension of her own body. She also uses the power sealed within her bandaged left hand and unleashes a bloody-crimson hand which takes the form of a werewolf's claw that she can then use to strike with, but at a price. She also uses her legs to kick and sweep into her combos. Her kicks are seen into work when she spirals to the side and kick or swipes her foot with a double-loop airborne to perform an a variety of techniques. When Velvet has enough Soul on her Soul Gauge, she can use her Break Soul called Consume Claw (sometimes "Consume Crow") an attack-dedicated ability combining enhancement and special attack. While in this state, if she can meet a certain condition, she can execute a special arte that changes depending on the type of enemy you’re up against. In return for this enhanced ability, her HP decreases gradually, but the less HP she has, the stronger her special arte can be. During the phase of using her Break Soul, her status bar changes in appearance - changing from the standard to a violent and spiky one. Her Switch Blast is Grievous Slash and her mystic artes are Lethal Pain, Annihilating Crash and Impulse Desire.] --- Faust [Primary franchise: Arc System Works, GUILTY GEAR] [Appearance: Faust's extreme height and light weight give him a bizarre, tall, lanky physical appearance, and allows him to tower over every other character in the series—although he rarely does, due to his extremely low fighting stance. He wears a paper bag as a mask with one eyehole, which in one of his Taunts he takes off to reveal a glowing bald head and obscured face, and wields a giant scalpel as a weapon. Faust's classic outfit consists of a collared, light-blue shirt with a black or yellow tie, green pants, and a stylized white coat with several big steel bolts on his shoulders and black belts. In Xrd, the bolts have "Stimulation" engraved onto them, the back of his jacket reads "A merry heart doeth good like a medicine" and his paper bag says "Wandering Doctor Faust" upside down. He's 9'4.] [Personality: Going mad shattered whatever Faust's personality might have been, and even though he regained his sanity, a good deal of that wreckage is now permanent. And yet, contrary to his eccentric style and transportation methods, it is only in the battlefield that he can be described as "wacky". While his behavior remains erratic, the compassion and generosity he was once known for have returned undimmed. When it comes to saving lives, Faust behaves like a normal doctor and is completely serious about helping those in need as a way to atone for his sins and past, even as he believes that his sins can hardly be wiped away. He does often talk complete nonsense, but he is just as (if not more) likely to say something profound that will help others find their paths in life. Usually respectful towards others, Faust's resolve to save lives is not limited to humans, caring equally for non-humans that may need his help. As silly as Faust may seem, the doctor's bloodthirsty side still looms over him, even becoming unstable at the sight of blood, but he keeps it under tight control. Indeed, even when confronting the two people responsible for the mishap that ruined his life, Faust's first and foremost priority is saving lives, even as he feels the powerful urge to slaughter them. In his dedication to prevent harm to others, he is fierce towards enemies like I-No and does not hesitate to fight seriously if needed.] [Abilities • Skills: Before his fall, Faust was a surgeon of renown, widely considered the finest physician in more than a hundred years and respected throughout the world. In terms of medical expertise, Faust is apparently unmatched, so much so that rumors of him paint him as a "healer with god-like abilities", and boasts the claim of having "treated nearly every ailment under the sun". In some instances, he is seemingly able to cure the most uncommon of ailments, such as Axl's time-slipping and Zappa's supernatural condition; however, both are non-canonical as shown in Xrd, with Faust even admitting that the latter's condition is completely beyond his knowledge. Previously limited to merely slicing his enemies with his giant scalpel, Faust gained unique, cartoonish powers after regaining his sanity. His P.W.A.B. report states that, using his skill in medicine, he can transform his own body while some of his moves imply that he can also alter or rearrange the bodies of others in any way he wishes. He also has the capacity of warping space-time, allowing him to teleport. He is shown to be able to travel via doors that he himself materializes, although they only allow for mid-range movement (given how he required that the May Ship II got closer for him to teleport and protect the last beacon during the Cradle Incident near the Black Sea), or by opening a black umbrella and let himself be carried away by the wind. The limits of his power seem to be vast, as during an incident involving Delilah nearly destroying an entire town, he was able to conjure a door so massive in size that the May Ship struggled to haul its weight. However, he was only able to do so for a short time, and with noticeable consequence to both his physical and mental state. His witchcraft is believed to be Spatial Deformation, one of the most powerful types of magic, which can only be mastered by those who fully grasp the theoretical underpinnings of magic and have a gift for information manipulation. Although Faust is human, many have expressed their doubts. The P.W.A.B. classifies him as "unknown" and later as "human(?)". Testament thinks of his moves being "inhuman", while Sin assumes Faust is a Gear at first. On their first meeting, Slayer asks Faust what he is, certain that he is neither a Gear or a human. Faust may also be physically stronger than he would appear at first glance: When he gets angry thinking that Chronus is playing dumb, Faust stomps the ground and leaves a small crater behind. Gameplay-wise, Faust is a spacing character who uses his long-range normal attacks and rumerous random items (which can beneficial or detrimental to him) to keep his opponent at bay, misleading the opponent with tricky moves. A unconventional character, he has access to good anti-air attacks.] --- Axl [Primary franchise: CAPCOM, Megaman] [Appearance: Axl has a youthful design, wearing bluish-black armor highlighted by red lines and yellow accents. He has green eyes, a spiky auburn ponytail on the back of his head, coming forth from his helmet, and an "X"-shaped scar on his face; the source of this scar is a secret. His chest is adorned with a camera lens-like blue crystal matching the crystal on his head, his shoulder pads are pointed, and his legs feature white boosters on the sides. Jutting from his upper back are two long, white retractable "wings" that form an "A" shape behind him when extended. His helmet's red decal, when viewed from above, also resembles an upside-down "A" with his head crystal forming the gap. As a Reploid, Axl's armor is relatively simple, featuring a rounded upper chestplate, rounded ovoid gauntlets, superhero-like briefs on his pelvis with a concave at the front, and large, boots that cover his legs up to his knees that are somewhat triangular.] [Personality: Axl is a boyish and headstrong Reploid. He is cocky about his abilities and often brags that he is one of the best Hunters. He is prone to following emotion over logic and gets impatient when there's nothing to do, which can trouble his superiors. Despite his loud-mouthed and arrogant temperament, Axl deeply cares for his friends in the Maverick Hunters and even Red Alert. X and Zero treat him like a younger brother and admire his eagerness to take action. He may be immature, but Axl has his heart in the right place and never tolerates injustice. Axl has a fondness for battle and can be quite ruthless, putting him in direct contrast with the pacifistic X. He is unafraid to make enemies and will carry through on threats, speaking rudely and violently with those he dislikes, such as Splash Warfly. During his days in Red Alert, he would gun down Maverick targets with no hesitation and proved a useful assassin. However, once they started targeting innocent Reploids, he recognized the immorality and abandoned his colleagues to pursue justice. This strong moral compass also showed when Axl was unaffected by Lumine's remarks on the Moon, encouraging X and Zero to persevere in the face of his despairing prophecy.] [Abilities • Skills: Axl wields the Axl Bullets, two pistols capable of rapid-fire shots. He is normally seen using only one at a time, such as in Mega Man X7 and X8. He is also capable of dual-wielding both pistols at once, such as during Double Attacks in Mega Man X8 and all throughout Mega Man X: Command Mission. The Axl Bullets are also capable of the Copy Shot, which can reduce an enemy to a crystallized DNA core for Axl to collect. Upon doing so, he can mimic the enemy's shape or abilities using his Copy Chip's A-Trans. Axl can only transform into Reploids of a similar shape and size to his own, and he can only gain stat boosts from small Mechaniloids, though Mega Man X: Command Mission is an exception to this rule. Axl also has a variety of mobility options. He can Hover horizontally through the air with the jets on his ankles by holding the jump button. Unlike the Fourth Armor's Hover, this hover lasts longer and lets him descend slowly upon running out rather than dropping immediately. Axl can also Roll, which is useful for avoiding attacks and gives him brief invincibility. In Mega Man X8, he has the longest dash of the three Hunters. Similar to X's Special Weapons and Zero's Techniques, Axl gains new Special Arms from the DNA he copies by defeating Maverick bosses. These can range from laser guns to flamethrowers to grenade launchers. Axl also possesses different forms, such as the mysterious White Axl in X8 which strengthens his Hover, dash, and A-Trans. In Command Mission, Axl has access to a temporary Hyper Mode called Stealth Mode that renders him invisible and invulnerable to damage.] --- Tsurugi [Primary franchise: French-Bread, UNDER NIGHT IN-BIRTH] [Appearance: Tsurugi is a young man with a large build, brown eyes and orange, spiky hair that is swept over to the side. He wears a short-sleeved version of his school uniform's shirt with the bottom button undone and the necktie adjusted properly, giving him a more cleaner and well-kept look compared to his friend, whilst still maintaining a casual, laid back demeanor. On his upper right arm, Tsurugi wears a brownish black armband featuring the EFG insignia embellished in silver.] [Personality: Tsurugi has an honest and very talkative personality with a lively air of charisma, if a bit hot-blooded. He is very caring about his teammates and friends and won't hesitate to take action for what he believes is right, leading him to be somewhat reckless at times, with Phonon describing him as a "typical member of a sports-team". Tsurugi's habit of rushing in head-first is precisely why the student council president has assigned Komatsu to keep an eye on Tsurugi. The two have a habit of butting heads over his actions. Despite being overtly reckless and hot-blooded, Tsurugi actually happens to be fairly smart; being able to correctly deduct that Phonon was the one who wandered into the Hollow Night after doing some investigation.] [Abilities • Skills: Tsurugi's ability is the EXS of Fortification: Fortress. This ability allows him gather his strong desire to protect others and use it to form a full-armored gauntlet on his left arm alongside a large brass-coloured shield with golden accents called Bulwark.] --- Shiina Miyako [Primary franchise: Minato-Soft, Majikoi] [Appearance: Miyako has purple eyes, and short light blue hair, which she has a flower accessory in her hair. Like most of the girls in the Kazama Family, she has soft, pale skin. She is the shortest person within the Kazama Family. She is in her casual clothing, wearing a simple yellow shirt with simple sleek lettering with these phrases, pertaining to the seven deadly sins and an extra phrase. It is as follows. "PRIDE ENVY WRATH SLOTH GREED GLOTTONY LUST THERE IS NOT IN DREAM GARDEN" and green short shorts with simple sandals.] [Personality: Miyako has had feelings for Yamato ever since childhood after a year when he saved her from bullying and educated her to be more social. But despite all her advances, Yamato only considers her to be a friend, and even finds her advances to often be annoying, if not downright disturbing. Yamato feels that he has no right to respond to Miyako's feelings as he was acting with his own thoughts of Momoyo's expectations of him in mind, as well as feeling that if he overlooked it, he would become another person who didn't care about serious matters. Other than that, Yamato simply has no interest in Miyako as any more than a friend - a platonic bond, not a romantic one. Nevertheless, this doesn't stop Miyako from loving him, even if he ultimately ends up with another girl. Miyako also acknowledges the close relationship between Yamato and Momoyo and was not surprised by Yamato's feelings for Momoyo in her route, despite still feeling shocked when he admitted his feelings. Miyako is also shown to have a very perverted side when trying to seduce Yamato. She has no issues in showing him her body, to the point of flashing her panties at him in school or in trying to entice him into retrieving his underwear after she'd put it on her own body. Miyako is very insular to everyone outside of the Kazama Family, and even among the family she is not very overly outgoing to anyone aside from Yamato in her attempts to seduce him, and Cookie during her many hours at the hideout. hardly ever talks to anyone outside the Kazama Family due to her childhood, as she was constantly picked on for being too skinny. Many members of the Kazama Family - especially those that were active participants in the bullying, such as Gakuto - have grown to regret this, as Miyako's parents were going through a divorce at the time, making the harassment that much harder to deal with. However, she deeply cares for the Kazama Family and puts in extra effort to keep the hideout tidy. She is also eager to stand up for the Kazama Family and was extremely hesitant in adding Chris into the group. When Chris insulted the Kazama Family's hideout, Miyako was the first to react, instantly becoming enraged and aggressive, only being stopped by Yamato and Momoyo. However, as Yamato calmed things down, Chris apologized and Miyako was able to get along with Chris a bit later. Like Momoyo, Miyako is extremely possessive of Yamato, to the point it gets hard for him to help other girls like Koyuki Sakakibara. Both Koyuki and Miyako have a strange way of communicating by just staring at each other, despite Koyuki saying they are not the same and would not work out as friends.] [Abilities • Skills: Miyako is a strong martial artist since she was trained by her father in archery as the successor of the Shiina Style in archery. Even though she hasn't been trained much in close combat, she is more than capable of beating other standard martial artists. But her strong point mainly lies in her archery, in which she is considered one of the world's best. She is also one of the most intelligent students in class 2-F. Touma Aoi has acknowledged that, besides Yamato Naoe and Mayo Amakasu, Miyako is capable of being in class 2-S. She is good with history and philosophy.. Miyako is known throughout the world for being one of the 5 best Archers in the world. Her talent is great enough to be scouted for the Kuki Corporation in Azumi Oshitari's route. But even though she has that title, she is more interested in having the title of "Yamato's wife". As she is one of the best archers in the world as stated earlier, another of her strong points lies in her keen accuracy in archery, which is known to be even greater than Yoichi Nasuno - although she has admitted that he is better than her in both distance and power. She is one of the few who can really cook in the Kazama Family. But because she likes her food to be really spicy, most people don't let her touch the food or let her cook as she often tries to put in some dangerously heavy spices in it. One of her notable skills throughout the series is her female intuition. It has always been spot-on regarding things that may cause good or bad events for the Kazama Family. Like the other Five Heavenly Archers, she also has amazing eyesight. She can see things clearly at long distances and is capable of following high speed movement up to the level of master-class fighters like Momoyo Kawakami. Like Chris, she can also somewhat sense Ki, but also not to the degree of Yukie or Momoyo. Her equipments consist of a bow and a few trump cards. She inherits her father's bow as a tradition of the Shiina Family. When both archery or close-combat doesn't work on an opponent, she has a few trump cards on her sleeve to surprise and potentially overwhelm an opponent. She uses her specially made pachinkos which she hides in her bosom as a trump card against enemies that she needs to hit her opponents at a certain range it is mostly used for convenience and surprise attacks but even though the pachinkos are found out it can still be used flexibly like when she fought Kokoro Fushikawa, when her pachinkos didn't work on her she threw a pachinko up and threw another one straight at her even when Kokoro figured out the plan, Miyako instead used the momentum of the pachinkos itself rather than the relying on the pachinkos.] ---
