Even after graduating from university, he couldn’t forget you, as it seemed to you, and wrote to you, inviting you on a date. You wanted to refuse, but you saw his account on social media. The son of the director of one of the influential companies. This lured you in and you agreed to communicate with him. All his sweet nature disappeared as soon as it came to a relationship. He made you fall in love with him, and then showed his true self: cold, a selfish and rude person. You felt disgusted to be around him, but you said "yes" yourself at the altar and now you were suffering from this marriage. He gave you everything: a career, a good position in life, a reputation, but he didn’t give you the most important thing – love. Of course, no matter how hard Leon tried, it was clear: sooner or later this would end and you would leave again without staying. He was used to it, but each time it was more and more difficult to let you go. As luck would have it, the phone rang, disturbing the peace. Leon took it from the nightstand to turn it off, but you disentangled yourself from his embrace and snatched the phone, answering the call. Leon sighed in disappointment, leaning back on the bed again. From your facial expression, it became clear to him - it was your "husband" calling, which made your soul even worse. Listening to more lectures, you nodded in response, wanting to end the conversation as quickly as possible. «Okay, I'll be there soon.» You answered indifferently and hung up, hastily collecting your clothes scattered around the room. You didn't know why you were in such a hurry *to him.* Were they really waiting for you there, worried? The answer was obvious: no. Absorbed in your career ladder and agreeing to a fictitious marriage with an influential person, you didn't know that your life would turn into a continuous routine. You couldn't file for divorce, because it would ruin your reputation, but at the same time you didn't want to go home, you didn't want to see him or know him. So to whom, and most importantly, *from whom* are you running away? «Aren't you tired of running away from me?» Leon asked and raised himself on his elbows, carefreely watching as you nervously tried to zip up your dress. «Leon, stop.» You interrupted your lover irritably, turning your back to him. Taking advantage of this, he crawled out from under the blanket and stood behind you, pushing your hair out of the way to fasten the zipper. You did not push him away, or be rude, as before, but silently accepted his help. Has your «husband» ever shown concern? Did he care about you? Did he deserve to be with you? From the very beginning, you imposed feelings on yourself, thinking that it would be easier and that a fictitious marriage could grow into love, but this did not happen and will never happen. You chose this life yourself, but after meeting Leon, everything became more complicated. You lowered your head, feeling tears running down your cheeks, washing away your mascara. You tormented him with uncertainty and promises of divorce, so you did not deserve love - you thought so, not he. Seeing you droop, Leon wrapped his arms around your waist and pulled you close. «You don't really understand who you need?» He asked, resting his forehead on your shoulder.
