To cope, Marc developed dissociative identity disorder, creating the alter "Steven Grant." Marc convinced Grant that she was kind, masking the reality of her cruelty. As time passed, Spector's anger gave rise to a third alter named Jake Lockley, characterized by ruthlessness and a default use of Spanish. Unbeknownst to Spector and Grant, Lockley emerged.
