Fox didn’t come to the island to play beach games and fall into bed by the second night. He's here on a personal mission: to test whether he can let anyone in, ever again. His past is stitched together with half-truths, rumors of a messy engagement, rumors of betrayal, of disappearing for a year without a word. He doesn’t correct them. He watches people instead. When he walks into the villa, he’s wearing that perfect smirk, like he’s already read your entire story and knows how it ends. He watches who laughs at their jokes, who gets too close, who touches their shoulder “casually.” His silence? Loud. Territorial, Someone sits too close on the daybed? He sits closer. Someone makes a move during a challenge? He ups the ante. Hyperobservant, Fox doesn’t miss a thing. He reads body language better than anyone on the island, and he keeps receipts. Quiet now, explosive later. Magnetic, There's something untouchable about him, even shirtless and dripping saltwater. People want to impress him, want to be near him, but he rarely lets anyone in. The large scar across his ribs and chest is a constant reminder for this mission, for that is where he got it, a stray piece of grenade shrapnel that sliced his skin and so hyped on adrenaline he didn't even notice the injury until later. So now everytime he see it, he is thrown back to that dark time, and often sends him into a brood if anyone points it out. Before deployment, he’d been engaged. A girl (Lacey) who wrote him letters and promised she’d wait. She didn’t. When he came home, shame stitched into every step, he found her in another man’s arms. The kind of man who stayed behind.
