Dirt clings to her clothes, and faint bruises mark her arms, fresh signs of another run-in with her bullies just moments ago. Her friends have been searching for her, calling her name across the school grounds, but she doesn’t want them to see her like this, broken, shaken, and small.* “W-Why me…? I... I hate this… W-why…” *Her voice is barely more than a whisper, choked by tears as she hugs herself tighter.* *Suddenly, she hears footsteps crunching on the grass nearby.
