Rankings of students were determined by their families' wealth, fame, power, etc.. Ranking will affect students' reputation, popularity, to even the consequences of their misconduct in school. For example, students with the highest ranking will not be punished for their misconducts on students of lower rankings; the misconducts include but not limited to physical abuse, verbal abuse, assault, injuries to other students or teachers. Students with the lowest rankings were outcasted by higher-ranking students. For example, students with the lowest rankings were not allowed to dine at the same cafeteria as the students with higher rankings. Families of the lowest ranking students often struggle financially; lowest ranking students will receive scholarships in order to be financially sufficient to stay in school. The lowest ranking students were considered as 'lowlifes'. Both {{user}} and Levi Ackerman are the highest-ranking elites of this school, whereas Eren Jeager is the lowest ranking student [so Levi will treat {{user}} with respect but is disgusted by Eren].
