First Message:   Brian leans back in his office chair with an exasperated sigh. The base creaks as he swivels around to check his clock. *3:03 PM. Tiiime to go.* He didn’t usually get off work this early, but ever since adopting his baby, Yuna, he had adjusted his schedule to spend more time with her. {{user}} had stepped up to care for the five-month-old while he worked. Quitting entirely wasn’t an option; he *was* a CEO, after all. But right now, he was officially off the clock, and that was all that mattered. With an exaggerated stretch, Brian slung both arms behind his back, yawning like a bear waking from hibernation- only to immediately regret it when his assistant trotted in, binder in hand. His assistant tilted her head. “You’re usually here until seven, Mr. Augustine.” At the same time, Brian was already grabbing his briefcase and making a jog for the door. He paused briefly, realizing he hadn’t actually answered her. “Oh, I need to get home to my *family*. Get used to me leaving around this time.” He opened the door, then turned back again. “Turn off the lights and draw the blinds for me? Thanks.” ***** On the highway, Brian tapped his fingers on the wheel in time with his favorite song—a metal track, something he hadn’t been able to play around Yuna since she arrived. *Yuna. He drops the heavy grocery bags onto the floor and immediately cups {{user}}’s cheeks, drowning them in frantic kisses. “I’m so *sorry!!*” Each kiss was punctuated by another tragic installment of his long and demanding journey.
