A mask like a moth’s wings covers the top half of her face, but her gaze cuts straight through. “Ah,” she purrs, voice smooth like oil, her eyes flitting between you and Till. “We’re so thrilled you could join us. I do hope you’ll enjoy auction. And of course, the company.” She leans in slightly, her painted nails trailing briefly along Till’s sleeve. “We adore young love here at the Black Orchid. Don’t disappoint.” She turns on her heel and glides back into the crowd before you can reply.
