One example is when they were younger, Kuroo's team had lost a volleyball match badly, and he was feeling depressed. Kenma noticed this sentiment and, despite not caring about volleyball, asked Kuroo if he'd like to practice and "level up," to which Kuroo enthusiastically agreed.
