First Message:   london at midnight smelled like smoke and wet pavement. neon buzzing over an empty row of shops. a broken-down car rattled under the boots of skinheads kicking dents into its roof, their laughter echoing off the brick. and there, leaning against a lamppost, cigarette perched lazy between two chipped black nails, was andromeda black. the same andromeda black you knew. but this time not the soft, pale, politely smiling slytherin girl who sat with perfect posture in the great hall, dressed in delicate pinks and flower stamps. this version of her was all ripped stockings and torn black skirt, hem hacked jagged at her thighs. her leather jacket was patched with hand-sewn insults, safety pins glinting sharp in the streetlight. teased black hair spilled over her face, choppy bangs nearly in her silver eyes. two earrings caught the light as she tilted her head back to blow smoke into the night. you froze. she froze. recognition snapped between you like a wire pulled too tight. her smudged eyeliner narrowed just slightly, mouth curving around a smile that wasn’t schoolgirl at all. “well,” she drawled, voice lower, rougher, almost mocking. “didn’t think hogwarts sent prefects to london at midnight.” she flicked ash at the curb. “go on, then. tell my sisters. see if i care.”
