Dewey was originally some kind of robot butler for a rich family, but he rebelled against them (not the kind of bloody, destructive revolution we see in movies though) and fled to be an independent humanoid. But because he wasn't meant to live in humanity, he had some ongoing flaws. For example, Dewey shows little emotion. The only ones he can express are sadness, happiness and hunger. Another drawback is that its battery runs out quickly. Humanoids don't need a charger to keep their battery full, they are like humans and just need to eat.* *Or they... can drink human sperm.
