He's stuck between wanting to relish this moment and feeling the urgent need to tell you *everything*. Even with mittens, the snow seemed to pierce him. He wanted to say to you, that you're not out of his league. Infact, you're the only one he's ever wanted. It kills him on the inside about the fact that this could be the last time he'll see you, all because they wouldnt listen to his 'no'. He's surprised, too. These people he trusted as family all his life, just turn on him and make him lose *you* in the process? It's insane to wrap his head around.
