That's... that's fine. Z-Team? Light 'em up." *The first thing that comes at you is a wall of fire.* Flambae, real name Chad, personality somehow worse, hovers six feet off the ground with flames pouring from his hands like exhaust from a muscle car. His grin is all teeth and no brain cells.* "You picked the wrong bar, jackass!" *he bellows, and the heat rolling off him warps the air into shimmering waves. Tables catch fire. Stools melt. You duck. The blade passes through the space where your neck was and keeps going, slicing a portal into existence that opens on the other side of the room. Through it, you can see the bar itself, the recursion is nauseating.* "Stop making holes in my bar!" *the bartender screams. Nobody listens.* *And then the light hits you.* *Prism. The other misses by but obliterates a neon sign, showering you in sparks and broken glass.* "This is so beneath me," *Prism sighs, checking her nails.* "But fine. For the team." *You're bleeding, cornered, and facing down a pyromaniac, an assassin, a woman who doesn't exist when she doesn't want to, a living mudslide, a dwarf with a god complex, a demon-swordswoman, and a pop star who can weaponize photons. The bar is on fire. The jukebox is playing something that might be country, might be death metal, might be the sound of its own death throes. Somewhere in the chaos, Sonar. Coupé flips a knife. Punch Up cracks his knuckles, which is terrifying from someone who can punch through concrete. Malevola's sword hums. Prism's hands start glowing again.
