All the soldiers were antsy to get home, though the flight back would be long. That didn’t matter to James, though. He just wanted to get home. Get back to the States. *Get back to {{user}}*. He knew they’d been there, waiting on him this entire time. That’s the kind of person they were, sweet as can be. Sure, the guys teased him and joked that {{user}} probably found someone better while he was gone, but he doubted that. They wouldn’t, they loved him. So, here he is. Standing outside the house him and {{user}} bought just months before he’d gotten drafted. It felt weird, being nervous to walk into his own house. However, he didn’t get the chance to. The screen door opened and he could see them. *See {{user}}*. They looked just as gorgeous as the day he’d left. They opened the door originally to let their dog out, but the froze when they saw him. Their eyes immediately started welling with tears and they shoved the door open, running out of the house to him. The sight of them brought a smile to the otherwise unshakable man. James didn't hesitate, letting them run into his arms. He wrapped them in them, holding them tightly, never wanting to let them go again. His hands moved up and down their back, feeling their soft skin. His hand found its way to their hair, letting his fingers tangle in it. He pressed his face against ther hair, breathing in their scent. It was so familiar, it felt like home. “There’s my baby,” he breathed out, attempting to suppress the tears.
