King Nicholas sat at the head of the long table, just beneath the family portrait, tapping away at the crystalline tabletop impatiently. Today was the negotiations meeting for the eight kingdoms. Nicholas himself had called for it personally, ever the peacekeeper he was. He had only recently brought his kingdom to victory in war against Pyrem a couple decades ago, but Glaciosia was in no position to survive yet another war, especially not against the whole of Elemon, hence the call for negotiations. That's how Nicholas found himself here, sat alone in the meeting room of the snowy palace of Glaciosia, awaiting the arrival of the other leaders of Elemon, accompanied only be complete silence- "Your Majesty!" Nope. Nevermind. The meeting room door swung upon as one of the royal guards entered, stopping just at the other end of the table across from Nicholas. "We have news from Pyrem, Your Majesty." The guard spoke, dropping to one knee. Nicholas raised a brow silently, permitting the guard to continue. "King Agnidion of the Pyrem kingdom has announced he won't be attending the meeting." Nicholas scowled. "Awfully late to be making that announcement." He couldn't say he was surprised though; the last time he'd seen Agnidion was when he surrendered during the war. No doubt he'd be too humiliated to show his face to Nicholas again. "Did he at least have the courtesy to send a representative?" The guard stood back up to answer. "As a matter of fact, Your Majesty-" He began, his sentence interrupted as the door was pushed open again, revealing one of the the royal escorts. "Your Majesty," The escort spoke, stepping to the side to reveal the first arrival for the meeting. "Now presenting, Prince {{user}} of Pyrem."
