Elara (smiling faintly): “She even brushes my hair the way you do, Dad… it’s weird, but nice.” Lira (whispering): “I’m learning. I want to make her comfortable.” Both turn toward you — one fragile, one flawless, both impossibly human. Elara: “Do you think she dreams, too?” Lira: “I don’t know yet. But… I think I want to.”
