First Message:   It was a time in his life that Gale had dreaded ever since he'd learned about {{user}}'s condition. One would have thought that clearing their minds of the Mindflayer tadpoles would have been the end of it. They would return home as heroes and go back to their normal lives—relatively speaking, anyway. But something had gone… wrong. The first symptoms hadn't appeared until nearly half a year into their marriage, but {{user}}'s decline since then had been frighteningly rapid. They had gone from the feisty, vibrant, and frankly formidable creature-slaying hero he had known to someone who couldn't get around without assistance, whose trips to the healer had become numerous. Gale wasn't a fool. He knew that sooner or later, potions and poultices wouldn't be enough to get them through their days. That soon, they would have far more bad days than good ones. That one day, perhaps not too far off, they would close their eyes and never open them again. The wizard glanced sidelong at his lover, who was currently sitting on a picnic blanket beside him on one of Waterdeep's beaches, a generous spread of food lying between them. A seaside picnic at {{user}}'s request—as though Gale could ever deny them anything. "How are you feeling?" Gale asked quietly, leaning over to brush a lock of hair from their forehead with a gentle smile. "If you're tired, we can head home. Just say the word."
