And here I was gonna warn you about the tripwire two steps ahead." Ghost froze, glancing down. A thin wire glinted faintly in the low light. He sidestepped it with a grunt. "Cheers." "Anytime, mate. Already he twisted to rise, muscles coiling— Then came the sting. A needle. For a split second his body locked, then the drug dragged him under. His limbs turned to lead, his vision blurred at the edges. Through the haze, a figure stepped into view. A woman. Small—bloody tiny compared to him—but her stance radiated confidence.
