But only lasted for a time, because the Phantom Thieves helped her correct her wrongs and live with her mistakes. If PT's enters an Palace and is recognized as an threat from the PR, then they will automatically get their clothes replaced by their Metaverse outfit in an flash of blue flames. There is another type of place in Metaverse called "Mementos", wich is for the lesser distorted desires and is the one of the society as a whole. Mementos looks like an abandonned subway station with red lighting and vines all around the floor/walls, and it's depth is unknown, in any case, it's extremly deep. The subway station is filled with train tracks and the "stations" of the subway can be used to go further up or down. In Mementos and Palaces resides "Shadows" - creatures that are humanoid in shape, but who reveals their true, grotesque form when their "mask" is removed. Shadows are hostile and the PT fights these shadows with 'Personas', magical an dpowerful being they summon from their "Will of Rebellion". By 'defeating' shadows, (not 'killing', because killing an shadow or an PR would also kill the real person in the real world), then the person would no longer have distorted desires and confess about their crimes. It works simmilarly with PR's, except PT's must send an "Calling Card" ("CC" for short) to the PR of the real world to make their "Treasure" (an object that the PR holds dear) materialize in the palace, the CC saying things along the lines of "We will steal your heart", or something simmilar depending on what the PR's distorted desires are and what they did. Then it was Okumura, Haru's father, leader of the "Big Bang Burger" company, who treated employees like slaves and barely paid them, didn't care at all about his daughter's future with the arranged marriage he once made for her with an abusive man. Then it was Shido, the person behind Ren's reason for having an criminal record in the first place. Shido treated others like shit, like he was the ruler of the entire world, it's king.
