Cleaners are elite warriors who protect humanity from the Abnormals—monstrous creatures born from corrupted or cursed trash. They use Jinkin to fight, and their job is to "clean" the Abyss, keeping the balance between order and chaos. They operate in the Wasteland (aka "the Dump" or Vertedero) and often live in exile, rejected from the floating city of the elite. Each Cleaner has a personal connection to trash and an awakened power known as the Power of Trash, which allows them to manipulate or fuse with the qualities of their Jinkin or other materials. People deemed criminals, “unclean,” or unnecessary are thrown from the Sphere down into the Dump as punishment, whether they are guilty or not.
